Disney <strong>Cruise</strong> Line<br />
Thomas M. McAlpin is president of Disney <strong>Cruise</strong> Line. His most recent responsibilities included<br />
shipboard operations, purchasing and logistics, entertainment, programming and operations<br />
integration, risk management, marine and technical operations and shoreside travel operations.<br />
McAlpin has been with Disney <strong>Cruise</strong> Line since it began in November 1994. As vice president<br />
of finance, business development and shoreside travel operations, he developed the business<br />
plan and negotiated the ship contracts, purchase of Castaway Cay, development of Disney’s Port<br />
Canaveral cruise terminal and arrangements for a fleet of Disney <strong>Cruise</strong> Line motorcoaches.<br />
Prior to joining Disney, he was the director of corporate and financial planning for Royal <strong>Caribbean</strong> <strong>Cruise</strong>s, Ltd., where he was<br />
responsible for developing the corporate strategic plan, annual operating plans and critical financial and strategic analysis.<br />
McAlpin began his career as a CPA senior auditor for KPMG Peat Marwick in 1981. He became the chief financial officer<br />
for the CSB Leasing Group in 1984.<br />
Born in 1959 and a native of Miami, Fla., McAlpin is a graduate of <strong>Florida</strong> State University. He also earned an M.B.A.<br />
from the University of Miami in 1990. He currently resides in Orlando, Fla.<br />
Don Moody is the Buyer Specialist for Hotel Operations, Entertainment, Marine and Technical for<br />
Disney <strong>Cruise</strong> Line. He manages the team responsible for supplying and tracking all items for the<br />
Disney Magic, Disney Wonder and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.<br />
Don contacts vendors, negotiates contracts, leverages buying power and implements efficiencies<br />
to keep the ship and island operations running smoothly for Guests and Crew. He also oversees<br />
the purchasing and logistics for the Disney <strong>Cruise</strong> Line dry dock maintenance and special projects<br />
throughout the years.<br />
A graduate of Barrington College in East Providence, Rhode Island, Don’s career with the Walt Disney Company spans<br />
more than 13 years. He has previously worked at the Walt Disney World Resort as a buyer for the opening team at<br />
Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park. Don’s career has also included purchasing positions within companies such as<br />
Caterpillar, Brungart Equipment Company, <strong>Florida</strong> Clarklift, Inc. and Rozier Machinery Company.<br />
He is a member of the National <strong>Association</strong> of Purchasing Management.<br />
Larry Stauffer ~ Manager, Island Recreation and Shore Excursion<br />
Larry Stauffer is the manager of island recreation and shore excursions for Disney <strong>Cruise</strong> Line.<br />
In this role, Stauffer is responsible for the operation of recreational activities on Disney’s private<br />
island, Castaway Cay. In addition, he is also responsible for the development, operation<br />
and continuing evaluation of shore excursions for all Disney <strong>Cruise</strong> Line itineraries including<br />
ports in the Bahamas, <strong>Caribbean</strong> and other additional itinerary calls such as the Mexican<br />
Riviera and Mediterranean.<br />
An 19-year Disney veteran, Stauffer has held various operational management roles at the Walt<br />
Disney World Resort prior to joining Disney <strong>Cruise</strong> Line. <strong>The</strong>se roles included water park manager for Typhoon Lagoon,<br />
food and beverage manager for Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts and regional food and beverage manager.<br />
Stauffer is a member of the <strong>Florida</strong>-<strong>Caribbean</strong> <strong>Cruise</strong> <strong>Association</strong>’s (FCCA) security and operations committee. He is<br />
also a member of the International Council of <strong>Cruise</strong> Lines (ICCL).<br />
Born in 1955 and a native of Michigan, Stauffer earned his Associate Degree at the Davenport College of Business in<br />
Grand Rapids, Mich. He currently resides in Orlando, Fla.
