Note 2: DAYTIME RUNNING LAMPS (DRLs):<br />

Many Ford models have a configurable lighting<br />

system module that can be reconfigured to enable<br />

<strong>Canada</strong> Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 108<br />

compliant DRLs. This service can only be<br />

performed by an authorized Ford or Lincoln dealer<br />

in <strong>Canada</strong>.<br />

Note 1: [EIS] Electronic Immobilization System:<br />

for vehicles built AFTER September 1, 2007, you<br />

must read paragraph #9 of the "EXPLANATIONS"<br />

section.<br />

Note 2: Some U.S. GM vehicles are equipped with<br />

a feature that can turn off the Daytime Running<br />

Lamps (DRLs) while vehicle is in motion. In<br />

<strong>Canada</strong>, DRLs must be permanently on once<br />

vehicle is in motion. The DRL control system of<br />

your vehicle may need to be reprogrammed to<br />

neutralize the feature that permits turning DRLs off.<br />

Note 2: Possible modifications may include:<br />

At federal inspection, the RIV will verify that vehicle<br />

is equipped with daytime running lamps that cannot<br />

be turned off while the vehicle is in motion and that<br />

odometer and speedometer are properly identified.<br />

Importer must also demonstrate that the vehicle is<br />

equipped with an electronic immobilization system<br />

for vehicles built AFTER September 1, 2007. Other<br />

requirements may also apply.<br />
