• Manages and channels resources. It is not directly <strong>in</strong>volved<br />
<strong>in</strong> implement<strong>in</strong>g field activities.<br />
• Supports f<strong>in</strong>anc<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> country’s pr<strong>in</strong>cipal environmental<br />
priorities through a strategic alliance with <strong>the</strong> M<strong>in</strong>istry <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> Environment <strong>of</strong> <strong>Ecuador</strong>, for which purpose it ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong>s<br />
current agreements.<br />
• Is a voluntary mechanism for channel<strong>in</strong>g national and <strong>in</strong>ternational<br />
resources from public and private entities.<br />
• Has a multisectoral and cross-discipl<strong>in</strong>ary Board <strong>of</strong> Directors,<br />
which ensures that a range <strong>of</strong> stakeholders participate<br />
<strong>in</strong> decision-mak<strong>in</strong>g.<br />
