Last Saturday 13 October, saw our Senior
Girls Soft ball Team make their season
debut against St Ignati us College at St
Peter’s Girls School.
The girls showed promise and potenti al,
steadily gaining confi dence as the
game progressed, despite earlier being
swamped by nerves. The team started
with a successful fi elding innings where
they genuinely ‘outed’ the necessary
three opponents (without using the
mercy rule!) and there appeared to be
a defi nite lift in the teams atti tude and
approach.
Although we were defeated 14-2, the
fi nal score does not refl ect the girl’s
enthusiasm for the game! Every team
member contributed, and with further
skill development and conti nued
encouragement, we can look forward
to steady improvement as the season
progresses.
Thank you to the parents, grandparents
and friends who came along to support
the girls. Your cheering certainly assisted
in rallying the team and also gave the girls
the confi dence to realise they were doing
an awesome job both in the fi eld and
with the bat!
I look forward to our next batt le, against
Mercedes College this Saturday at
Pulteney Grammar (South Tce) in the City.
