so working pr<strong>of</strong>essionals may attend Objectives include<br />

literature critique, examination <strong>of</strong> personal resilience and<br />

protective factors, analysis <strong>of</strong> historical relationship <strong>of</strong><br />

resilience and spirituality, experience and description <strong>of</strong><br />

the principles <strong>of</strong> health realization, development <strong>of</strong><br />

criteria and standards for assessing resilience in self and<br />

others, and synthesis <strong>of</strong> the understanding into<br />

pr<strong>of</strong>essionally appropriate applications for each student's<br />

situation. Students from last term report the class as<br />

"life-changing" and "meaningful." The concentrated small<br />

seminar schedule <strong>of</strong>fers an "immersion experience" in<br />

this interesting and important topic. Various options for<br />

course reading materials accommodate different learning<br />

styles, personal interests and stimulate meaningful group<br />

dialogue. Meets 4:30-8:00 p.m.(Wednesdays 1/19, 2/2,<br />

2/23, 3/23, 4/27) and two Saturdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (1/<br />
