Limited Attendance Courses Invisalign: Clear Essentials II Dr. Jim Day Thursday, May 10, 2012 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Lunch 12:00 noon - 1:00 p.m.) $250.00 (per person) preregistration only 8 Hours CE Credit For Dentists Only - A prerequisite for this course is that the dentist must be Invisalign trained. Topics will include: How to identify and treat cases with Invisalign. Advanced Invisalign diagnosis and treatment planning. Advanced Invisalign techniques including buttons, pliers and IPR. Tips & techniques from the experienced Invisalign providers. How to use the full range of clinical support options. At the conclusion of the program the participants should be able to: Improve clinical outcomes Realize better practice economics Offer a more complete array of treatment options to patients Dr. James Day reached the level of Invisalign® Premier Advantage Provider in 2007 and has been treating Invisalign patients in multiple private practices in Arizona since 2003. Besides providing traditional dentistry to his patients, Dr. Day has extensive experience and training in traditional orthodontics as well. He received his dental degree from Georgetown University and completed a GP residency program in the USAF Dental Corps. He earned his Masters Degree and his Oral Medicine Fellowship at the University of Washington in Seattle. 4
Preparation for Medical Emergencies Dr. Stanley Malamed (morning session) Thursday, May 10, 2012 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. $65 (per DENTIST) preregistration $85 After April 9th $50 (per STAFF) preregistration $60 After April 9th 3 Hours CE Credit For Dentists and Dental Team Members Life-threatening emergencies can occur anytime, anywhere and to anyone. Such situations are somewhat more likely to occur within the confines of the dental office due to the increased level of stress which is so often present. In this course Dr. Malamed will discuss the areas which are considered vital to a proper understanding of emergency medicine: prevention, preparation, recognition and management. The morning session will include a discussion of preparation involving the office and staff and will include a thorough review of the office emergency kit (drugs and equipment). Management of Medical Emergencies (afternoon session) Dr. Stanley Malamed Thursday, May 10, 2012 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. $65 (per DENTIST) preregistration $85 After April 9th $50 (per STAFF) preregistration $60 After April 9th 3 Hours CE Credit For Dentists and Dental Team Members Recognition and management of specific emergency situations and includes the management of unconsciousness, respiratory distress, seizures, drug-related emergencies and chest pain, including cardiac arrest and use of the AED. Limited Attendance Courses These courses are designed for all members of the dental office staff, not just the doctor and chairside personnel. Situations discussed here can happen outside of the dental environment as well as in the office. Everyone should be prepared. Attendance by the entire dental team at both the morning and afternoon sessions is encouraged. Dr. Malamed was born and raised in Bronx, New York, graduating from the New York University College of Dentistry in 1969. He then completed a dental internship and residency in anesthesiology at Montefiore Hospital and Medical Center in Bronx, New York before serving for 2 years in the U.S. Army Dental Corp at Ft. Knox, Kentucky. In 1973, he joined the faculty of the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of U.S.C., in Los Angeles, where today he is Professor of Anesthesia & Medicine. Dr. Malamed has authored more than 140 scientific papers and 17 chapters in various medical and dental journals and textbooks in the areas of physical evaluation, emergency medicine, local anesthesia, sedation and general anesthesia. He is the author of three widely used textbooks: Handbook of Medical Emergencies in the Dental Office; Handbook of Local Anesthesia and Emergency Medicine.
