The General <strong>Dental</strong> Council (GDC) is urging dental care pr<strong>of</strong>essionals<br />

(DCPs) to keep track <strong>of</strong> their continuing pr<strong>of</strong>essional development<br />

(CPD) <strong>and</strong> to ensure they keep hold <strong>of</strong> any attendance certificates<br />

they have received.<br />

On 31 July 2013 more than 40-thous<strong>and</strong> DCPs will reach the end<br />

<strong>of</strong> their first CPD cycle. This means that at this time you must have<br />

completed 150 hours <strong>of</strong> CPD <strong>and</strong> have until 28 August 2013 to declare the<br />

There are two types <strong>of</strong> CPD – verifiable <strong>and</strong> non-verifiable. All<br />

DCPs must complete at least 50 hours <strong>of</strong> verifiable CPD, <strong>and</strong> a<br />

combined total <strong>of</strong> at least 150 hours, in each cycle.<br />

For CPD to be counted as verifiable it must meet four conditions:<br />

but packed lunches that are full <strong>of</strong> flavour <strong>and</strong> variety.<br />

The BDA is the pr<strong>of</strong>essional association for registered dieticians<br />

largest organisation <strong>of</strong> food <strong>and</strong> nutrition pr<strong>of</strong>essionals<br />
