NORTH DEVON COUNCIL SAFEGUARDING POLICY 2010<br />

12. Having completed Stage 1 of the EINA it should produce one of the following results. Please mark which one is applicable.<br />

A. The strategy, policy or project does not discriminate or have a negative impact on any of the equality target<br />

x<br />

groups. It may, in fact, promote equality.<br />

B. The strategy, policy or project does impact negatively but that the impact is intended <strong>and</strong> legal <strong>and</strong> of<br />

low/medium impact. The strategy, policy or project may be adapted to minimise the impact, or actions may be<br />

outlined that could promote equality. Stage two could be completed for a though assessment.<br />

C. There is possible negative impact on one or more groups <strong>and</strong> that impact may be illegal, not intentional, or<br />

likely to have a high impact on individuals or groups (or a combination of these). Under these circumstances,<br />

stage 2 of the EINA form must be completed.<br />

The original signed hardcopy should be kept with the policy in your unit for audit purposes. Electronic copies of EINAs should be retained in the<br />

EINA Folder on the Corporate Drive. Once the policy, strategy or project has been adopted please inform Emily Poyner, Diversity Officer who will<br />

then send it to the Equalities Group. The public will be able to examine completed EINA forms on the Council’s website.<br />

If you have answered B or C in question 12 please continue onto Stage 2: Full Assessment<br />
