Stainsafe® Carpet Care
Here are a few cleaning tricks which
will be useful for your Stainsafe® carpet.
If you follow them, your carpet will give
you great satisfaction for many years.
Prevention is better
Place mats in front of the house door to trap the
dirt. This will stop outside dirt from getting onto
your carpet. Bear in mind that a dark carpet won’t
show dirt and stains as much as a light carpet will.
Vacuum regularly
To preserve your carpets beauty and appearance
for a long time, we recommend that you vacuum
the whole carpet area at least twice a week. We
recommend a vacuum cleaner with rotating
softbrushes as this is the best way to remove deepdown
dirt and the carpet pile will recover more
quickly. These vacuum cleaners are a little more
expensive, but far more effective although their
use is not recommended on deep pile 'shaggy'
texture carpets. Stains can best be removed with
a carpet cleaning product. Read the instructions
for use carefully and always treat stains as quickly
as possible.
Clean in-depth
Every two years, we recommend that you clean
your carpet in-depth in order to preserve its
appearance. To find out the adequate cleaning
procedure, ask your specialised store, which will
give you the proper advice.
First aid for stains
1. React quickly
Do not allow stains to dry in, but remove them
immediately with a clean kitchen cloth. Remove
solid elements with a spoon. Find out
the type of stain, so that you can look up
the most suitable product in the stain table.
2. Thorough treatment
Handle the stain with a clean kitchen cloth,
working in from the outside so as to prevent
spreading and smudging. For most stains a carpet
care product can be used. If none is available,
soak the kitchen cloth in the product indicated in
the table. Use the correct quantity of the product,
not too much, not too little. Make sure you rinse
the carpet to remove the care product and the
dirt. Wait until the area is completely dry before
walking on it again.
A Water
Dab off the stain as far as possible with a clean white
kitchen cloth. Then treat the stain with a damp cloth
and dab it off again, until no further dirt adheres to
the cloth.
B Soap powder solution
(1 tablespoon soap powder to 1/4 l water)
Dab off the stain as far as possible with a
clean white kitchen cloth. Then treat the stain
with a cloth soaked in soap suds and then
dab it off again, until no further dirt adheres
to the cloth.
Important: Only repeat dabbing with clean
water and remove soap residues with a clean
cloth.
C Thinner
Dab/rub the stain with a cloth soaked in
thinner. Repeat until no more dirt is visible
on the cloth.
Important: Never apply care products
directly to the stain!
D Dry cleaning solvent
Dab/rub the stain with a cloth soaked in dry
clean solvent. Repeat until no more dirt is
visible on the cloth.
Important: Never apply care products directly
to the stain!
E Acetone
Dab/rub the stain with a cloth soaked in
acetone. Repeat until no more dirt is visible
on the cloth.
Important: Never apply care products directly
to the stain!

Stainsafe® broadloom carpets in
100% PP and marked with the label
'Bleach Cleanable', may even be
cleaned with diluted bleach (10%).

chemical treatment.
Limited Stainsafe® warranty
Stainsafe® carpets, with the Stainsafe
Warranty, will resist stains by foods
and beverage for many years when
recommended carpet care and cleaning
procedures are used. Regular carpet
care and routine maintenance is
essential to maintain your warranty
coverage. It is important that you give
immediate attention to any accidental
spillages using clean water or a
proprietary carpet cleaner. Over time,
normal foot traffic and general soiling
of your carpet will cause a change in
any carpets appearance.
Regular in depth cleaning is required
to maintain your Balta warranty. This
service must be performed by a
professional carpet cleaning technician
at least once every 24 months. Retain
your receipts for proof of maintenance
service should a warranty claim arise.
Limited Wear warranty
Balta warrants that with proper care
and maintenance, the pile of your
carpet with Wear Warranty will not
wear by more than 10% by weight from
normal foot traffic for a period of many
years. Wear is defined as abrasive fiber
loss and not changes in appearance.
This warranty covers only abrasive
wear resulting in loss of fibre. Wear or
damage from tears, pulls, cuts, pilling,
shedding, matting, crushing, burns,
pets, improper cleaning, improper
installation, or defective construction
is specifically excluded.
