The heart of the system is the Piezo Flexure Assembly which is<br />
integrated into the linear stage. The aluminum stage utilizes cross<br />
roller bearings and provides manual coarse control through a 32<br />
thread-per-inch leadscrew with a range of 25mm. Fine control is<br />
provided through the Piezo flexure with optional ranges of 150 or 300<br />

The <strong>PCS</strong>-<strong>5000</strong> is compatible with a wide range<br />
of accessories, providing maximum flexibility<br />
and easy customization.<br />
Accessories include:<br />
Steep/Shallow Headstage Adapter (Fig. 1)<br />
Allows orientation of the headstage and<br />
pipette holder at very steep or shallow angles<br />
and simplifies pipette exchange even in the<br />
tightest spaces. Symmetrical design works on<br />
the left and right side of the microscope.<br />

Base Pivot<br />
The Burleigh® <strong>PCS</strong>-<strong>5000</strong> <strong>Micromanipulators</strong> include a<br />
<strong>PCS</strong>-PS60 Power Supply, a <strong>PCS</strong>-503 Axis Control Unit and a<br />
<strong>PCS</strong>-520 Micromanipulator Assembly. The <strong>PCS</strong>-PS60 Power<br />
Supply provides a regulated, ultra-low noise, constant 60<br />
volt output for the Axis Control Unit. Easily share a single<br />
Power Supply between two <strong>PCS</strong>-<strong>5000</strong> micromanipulators/<br />
ACU systems to minimize cost and space consumption when<br />
multiple manipulators are required on the same microscope.<br />
Magnetic Base (Fig. 3)<br />
Can be used to mount to a magnetic surface.<br />
This allows quick attachment and detachment<br />
of the micromanipulator for more versatile<br />
positioning on a magnetic surface.<br />
Microscope Mounting Solutions (Fig. 4)<br />
Stable, convenient mounting methods for the<br />
most popular fixed stage upright and inverted<br />

Eliminate Drift Worries<br />
Piezo actuators are resistant to internal thermal drift. When external<br />
thermal changes are considered, a Burleigh® system contributes the<br />
same or less thermal position drift than other components such as<br />
the microscope, mounting structure and headstage. No other<br />
micromanipulator has inherently lower drift than a Burleigh®<br />
micromanipulator.<br />
