In November 2008, SIAEC, together with its joint venture<br />
partner Cebu Pacific Air, began construction of<br />
the first hangar for the Airbus 320 and 319 series aircraft<br />
in the Clark Civil Aviation Complex that paved the<br />
way for the further development of the Diosdado<br />
Macapagal International Airport (DMIA).<br />
The first hangar, costing an estimated P800 million,<br />
started operations in July 2009 which accommodates<br />
Airbus A-320 series aircrafts.<br />
"Now we will see the development of the second,<br />
much larger hangar in Clark.<br />
<strong>This</strong> will generate no less than 300 direct jobs and<br />
about 200 indirect jobs for our people in Central and<br />
Northern Luzon," Luciano stressed.<br />
He said SIAEC will spend close to P1 billion for the construction<br />
of the second hangar and will commence<br />
operation by end 2012.<br />

Governor vows to boost multibillion peso<br />
furniture industry in Pampanga<br />

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO --- Gov. Lilia G. Pineda vowed<br />
to help boost the multibillion furniture industry in the<br />
province, saying it is a key to job generation and can<br />
strengthen the local economy.<br />
<strong>This</strong> developed as the Chamber of Furniture Industries<br />
of the Philippines (CFIP), Pampanga Chapter led by its<br />
president, Remigio L. Lastimoso paid a courtesy call on<br />
the governor yesterday to get her support for the industry.<br />
After a brief meeting, both the governor and the furniture<br />
makers said they look forward to a productive<br />
partnership in giving the furniture industry and the<br />
local economy a big boost.<br />
The governor committed to set up a showroom where<br />
the CFIP members could display their products.<br />
Creativity and craftsmanship is one key to furniture<br />
business<br />
“We shall find an appropriate location and set it up as<br />
a decent and attractive venue where you could showcase<br />
your beautiful and quality furniture pieces,” the<br />
governor told the CFIP.
