help for people with real<br />

emergencies may be delayed.<br />

WHAT ARE THE DANGERS<br />

Every week the Fire Brigade have to deal<br />

with over a 100* Hoax Calls. Each time<br />

they have to respond to these calls they<br />

may be putting another life at risk.<br />

Many people who make these calls think<br />

it is fun to phone 999 when there is no<br />

emergency.<br />

The consequences of their actions are far<br />

greater than a ‘laugh’ and a ‘joke’:<br />

• Calls can be traced and recorded<br />

• Childern from the age of 10 years can<br />

be prosecuted<br />
