Prior to his founding of TSMC, which is the largest silicon foundry in the world, Dr. Chang was the President and Chief Operating Officer of General<br />

Instrument Corporation (1984-1985), and served Texas Instruments (1958-1983). Dr. Chang received his B. S. and M. S. degrees in Mechanical<br />

Engineering from M.I.T. in 1952 and 1953, and his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford in 1964. He received honorary doctorates from Chiao-<br />

Tung University, Ching-Hua University and Central University in Taiwan and Polytechnic University in the U.S. He received the IEEE Robert N. Noyce<br />

Award, and the “Exemplary Leadership Award” of the Fabless Semiconductor Association (FSA). Dr. Chang is a member of MIT Corporation &<br />

Dr. Chung, former President of Seoul National University, is currently a professor of economics at Seoul National University. Dr. Chung received a<br />

Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University in 1978 before becoming a professor at SNU’s Faculty of Economics. During his career, Dr. Chung has<br />

also taught economics at Columbia University, the University of Hawaii, London School of Economics and Ruhr-Universität Bochum and has held<br />

senior advisory positions on government commissions and at private research institutions in Korea. In 2006, Dr. Chung became the President of the<br />

Korean Economic Association. He was appointed as the 23rd President of Seoul National University in 2002 and served honorably until 2006.<br />

Dr. Jiirgen Mlynek<br />

Prior to this position, Dr. Mlynek served as the President of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (2000-2005). He studied at Techinical University of<br />

Hannover and at Ecole Polytechnique in Paris. He earned his Ph.D and Habilitation from University of Hannover. With research specializations in<br />

experimental quantum physics, atomic physics and surface physics, he has published about 240 in “Peer Review Journals” and numerous<br />

“Conference Proceedings”. He is the recipient of numerous honors and awards, among them: the Gottfried-Wilhelm-Leibniz Prize of the German<br />

Research Foundation (DFG, 1992); the Max Born Prize and Medal of the Institute of Physics and the Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft (1996);<br />

Fellow of the Institute of Physics, London (1999); full membership in the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences (2000); and the Urania Medal<br />
