The monthly Agenda/Business Meeting of the <strong>Piscataway</strong> Township Board of Education was held on<br />
Thursday, June 12, 2008 at the Administration Building. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by<br />
the Board President, Ms. Maas.<br />

HEREBY BE IT KNOWN that the <strong>Piscataway</strong> Township Board of Education has complied with the<br />
notification requirements of the Open Public Meetings Act for the announcement of this meeting<br />
date and place on May 23, 2007, in the following manner:<br />
Posting of the public notice on the posting board for the Board of Education in the Administration<br />
Building<br />
Mail notification to the newspapers serving <strong>Piscataway</strong>, Courier News and Home News & Tribune<br />
Notification filed with the Municipal Clerk at the Municipal Building on Hoes Lane<br />
This meeting is being recorded on audiocassette. This recording is not an official record or<br />
supplement to the minutes and is intended only as a source of information that the public might<br />
utilize at a later date to familiarize themselves with the Board's activities.<br />

BE IT RESOLVED that the Board adjourns to executive session for the purpose of reviewing and<br />
discussing a detailed personnel agenda for action this evening, and other matters involving<br />
individual staff members, as well as numerous outstanding matters in litigation. It is not known at<br />
this time when these matters can be disclosed to the public.<br />

SCHOOL YEARS<br />
Explanation:<br />
The mentoring regulations (N.J.A.C. 6A:9-8) require the development of the District’s Mentoring<br />
Plan as a collaborative effort between the Local Professional Development Committee and the<br />
Chief School Administrator. The New Jersey State Department of Education requires a<br />
mentoring plan that assures that all provisional teachers receive a mentor upon hire and<br />
participate in a rigorous mentoring program. All mentors are selected through an application<br />
process and receive a comprehensive training program. As required, the district’s Local<br />
Professional Development Committee has completed an alignment of the mentoring plan with<br />
the Professional Standards for Teachers.<br />
BE IT RESOLVED that the <strong>Piscataway</strong> Township Board of Education authorizes the<br />
Superintendent to approve the required District Mentoring Plan for the 2008-2011 school years.
