Remembering
September
GFWC Clubwomen testimonials

“Where were you on September 11”
It’s a question we’ve shared with family and friends—even complete
strangers—countless times over the past decade. It has been one
way we, as Americans, have dealt with the horrific terrorist attacks
of that morning in 2001. As we approach the 10 th anniversary, we
continue to heal, grieve, hope, and love. We continue to persevere.
And when we are asked, “Where were you” our answers resonate just
as intensely 10 years later.
What follows are a collection of stories, memories, and emotions
generously shared by GFWC clubwomen from around the country.
They have been edited only for clarity. This is their answer to the
question, “Where were you on September 11”
