large circular aperture, the short sides slightly raised on a small foot ring, the stone of yellowish green hue

Chinese jade carving of a goose, probably Ming dynasty, with the dark inclusions incorporated as the long
slender neck supporting its head with small eyes and a blunt beak elegantly turned back and rested on its
black‐mottled gray body, the upper part of the wing incised with a rush pattern with short dashes defining the
fine feathers, the wing to the reverse similarly executed, 1.6''w (4cm); Provenance: property of a Bay Area

Chinese carved jade scabbard fitting (wei), probably medieval (after Han but before Ming), the wide slightly
convex band carved and incised with a head of a mythical beast with a wide nose bracketed by whiskers
below large eyes and a pair of furled horns, accompanied by a dissolving horned body composed with C‐
scrolls, the underside with a rectangular loop, the gray matrix mottled with dark patches and fine striations (a

Chinese carved jade fu‐lion, probably Ming/Qing dynasty, the recumbent beast with forelegs extended and
hind legs tucked under, fashioned with a triangular head with pin‐point eyes, a short snout and topped with
teardrop form ears flanking the three tuffs falling over its back, the well defined spine extending back to a
bushy tail accented by incised detailing, the stone overall of a sea‐green hue mottled with occasional small

underside stamped 'silver', together with a domical lid with turquoise cabochons and enameled with colored
