The <strong>Webdyn</strong>gate Coronis Ethernet gateway includes a standard Coronis Wavecard and all of the features<br />

of a <strong>Webdyn</strong> M2M gateway. The gateway offers basic features allowing you to collect data from Coronis<br />

sensors (meter, temperature, etc.) and change settings through an Ethernet network using standard tools<br />

that support the Wavenis protocol.<br />

THE PLATFORM<br />

The <strong>WGE</strong>-E-<strong>COR</strong> hardware platform has an ultracompact<br />

card that integrates the Ethernet and<br />

Wavenis interfaces.<br />

The <strong>Webdyn</strong>gate Ethernet Coronis solution is totally<br />

Plug and Play. When first switched on, the gateway<br />

connects to the IP network on a factory server and<br />

downloads its entire configuration, which includes<br />

the Wavenis network, data server address, data<br />

format, collection intervals, etc.<br />

Once the configuration is complete, data can be<br />

automatically collected at periodic intervals.<br />

This configuration and the gateway’s firmware can<br />

be updated dynamically and remotely.<br />

TRANSPARENT MODE<br />

Two types of Wavecards can be integrated into the<br />

<strong>Webdyn</strong>gate gateways:<br />

• Low-power 25mw Wavecard.<br />

• High-power 500mw Wavecard.<br />

OPERATING PRINCIPLE<br />

The gateway can operate in either data logging<br />

mode, or in transparent mode.<br />

DATA LOGGING MODE<br />

The <strong>Webdyn</strong>gate gateway scans and collects data<br />

related to each sensor using a configuration file that<br />

describes the entire Wavenis mesh network. This<br />

data is formatted (xml or cvs) and periodically sent<br />

to a unified server through the Eternet network.<br />

In this mode, the gateway operates in «tunnel» or<br />

«serial IP» mode. A TCP/IP client server application<br />

is set up between the PC (local or remote) and the<br />

gateway. All of the data received on the TCP port<br />

through the gateway is sent to the Wavenis card’s<br />

serial port. In turn, all of the data sent from the<br />

Wavenis card and received on the serial port is sent<br />

to the PC using the same TCP link.<br />

If the remote application does not communicate<br />

natively in Ethernet, <strong>Webdyn</strong> provides a COM port<br />

redirecting software which enables you to redirect<br />

data from a serial port to a TCP/IP Ethernet port<br />

and vice versa. It is installed above the supervisor<br />

software, which does not need to be modified.<br />

This solution enables you to transparently use any<br />

existing application using the Wavenis protocole<br />

through a serial port on an Ethernet network.<br />
