The 2008 ADCO Fall Conference
O
n November 8 and 9, ADCO hosted its 2008
Fall Conference at the Delta Markham Hotel
& Conference Centre. Taking advantage of
this unique opportunity to meet with leading suppliers
and learn from experts in a variety of fields related to
children’s early learning and care, were the owners,
managers and staff of licensed child care programs from
across Ontario. ADCO was pleased to welcome the many
presenters who led seminars and workshops over the
course of the weekend. Among the topics covered were:
threat assessment for child care programs; child care
and the environment; phenomic awareness; and science
programming for young children. Other sessions covered
issues related to management and staff motivation,
accounting, government relations and supporting
children with differing learning abilities. The trade show
portion of the conference featured a host of products,
services and information of interest to educators. During
her keynote address, ADCO President Bonnie Walraven
recognized and thanked these exhibitors, referring to
them as “valuable members of the ADCO family who
make major contributions to children’s well-being.”
