Overall Purpose<br />

• Working as an integral part the <strong>Sales</strong> organisation, enable the achievement of the<br />

Company’s sales objectives through cost effective and technologically sound<br />

network design and development.<br />

<strong>Job</strong> Responsibilities<br />

• Working as an integral part of the <strong>Sales</strong> organisation, engage with cus<strong>to</strong>mers in a<br />

pro-active manner <strong>to</strong> establish cus<strong>to</strong>mer’s requirements. Provide advice and<br />

guidance <strong>to</strong> cus<strong>to</strong>mers. Be responsive <strong>to</strong> requests for information on technical<br />

and commercial (cost related) issues.<br />

• Develop bespoke, integrated solutions <strong>to</strong> meet cus<strong>to</strong>mer requirements, and<br />

wherever possible promote the <strong>euNetworks</strong> brand proposition, network<br />

capabilities and current products<br />

• Define technical specification of any off-net requirements and solutions<br />

• Present and demonstrate the technical integrity of the solution, and be<br />

accountable for the cost effectiveness of the solution<br />

• Where appropriate, develop innovative solutions that extend the sale, increase<br />

revenue and/or reduce costs. Build the business case for any extended sale<br />

• Work at the interface between <strong>Sales</strong> <strong>Engineer</strong>ing and the Service Activation<br />

<strong>Engineer</strong>ing team <strong>to</strong> ensure effective handover<br />

• Ensure that the <strong>Sales</strong> <strong>Engineer</strong>ing process contributes <strong>to</strong> and enhances cus<strong>to</strong>mer<br />

relationships and cus<strong>to</strong>mer satisfaction. Where necessary, resolve issues on the<br />

technical integrity and related matters of network solutions<br />

• Moni<strong>to</strong>r trends and developments in network technology <strong>to</strong> ensure own<br />

professional expertise and technical capabilities. Absorb the organisational<br />

learning from across the entire <strong>euNetworks</strong> sales engineering function<br />

Qualifications/Experience<br />

• Minimum requirement is for a Bachelors Degree in a scientific or technical<br />

discipline<br />

• 5+ year’s relevant experience in the telecommunications sec<strong>to</strong>r, including<br />

experience in <strong>Sales</strong> <strong>Engineer</strong>ing/Pre <strong>Sales</strong>. Earlier experience may have been as<br />

a Service Activation or Network <strong>Engineer</strong> or related support role.<br />

• Strong technical knowledge in areas such as routers, switches, Ethernet, IP,<br />

MPLS, VPLS, WDM, optical technology, dark fibre<br />

• Strong applications skill set across network inven<strong>to</strong>ry applications, Microsoft<br />

Office applications, salesforce.com, Google applications and OSS / project<br />

management <strong>to</strong>ols.<br />

• Cus<strong>to</strong>mer care skills<br />

• <strong>Sales</strong> behaviours, self presentation and professional sales engineering demeanor<br />

• Strong personal track record of delivery on time and <strong>to</strong> specification<br />

• Analytical and creative thinking skills, with development of pragmatic solutions <strong>to</strong><br />

cus<strong>to</strong>mer requirements<br />
