The advantage of LED in precise optical design and its
directional nature make the choice easy here. But the
same is becoming reality in recessed luminaires.
Greater efficacy can be achieved in Menlo 3 LED and
Quattro LED than ever before and these luminaires
now offer a sensible alternative for some open spaces,
especially when combined with good lighting controls.
For other spaces, often frequented, but for short periods,
the use of bulkheads such as Leopard LED with its inbuilt
presence sensor reaps the rewards of significantly longer
light source life - LED simply does not suffer reduction in
life from frequent switching like other sources do.
Through to Industry and large open spaces can now be
lit with LED, offering uniform lighting with minimal glare
and long maintenance cycles suitable for buildings that
are often difficult to access. Combined with controls for
presence and daylight this luminaire can offer significant
energy reductions through life.
On finally to retail and display areas and our range of
spotlights now include indirect LED sources, Prospector
LED, D-CO LED and Tidon LED offering enhance colour,
energy reduction and reduced glare whilst maintaining
a good optical choice to pick out goods and artefacts
in cool, UV free light with good colour rendering.
Suspended decorative luminaires such as Glacier LED
add to the ambience by contributing to the vertical light
in the room and helping to pick out reception or sales
desks, where low glare light to the face is so important.
In emergency Lighting LED is set to change luminaires
beyond belief. So much smaller with perfectly tuned
optics, luminaires such as Voyager LED Route and Area
can provide improved spacing that significantly reduces
the number of emergency luminaires to light the space
at the time of greatest need. This means lower install
cost, and the longer light source life, reduced battery
strain and size, the easy of replacement and test will also
significantly reduce through life cost and environmental
impact. Add to this Voyager Task and we can now light
with minimal intrusion those areas of high risk or extra
emphasis that all buildings have. Such LED emergency
solutions can also be found in other luminaires such as
Menlo 3 and PopPack, opening new technologies for
safety to all applications.
