As we enterthe'busy' season,
business is brisk. While
we anticipate increased sales,
being busy is putting pressure
on our inventory. We are in a
similar position with the MPH
this year as we were last
year -tryingto build an MPH
inventory while satisfying the
tnhouse
orders.
Columbia price sheets
The most current Commercial
/ Industrial price
2006 and the current
parts pricing is dated
March 2006.
as we would like so be sure to
check with us on lead times.
Although this is not the best
time of year to try to build
inventory, we are gaining on it
and maintainingthe best lead
times versus our comPetition.
One reason for the increase in
sales is due to our Waste Oil
Sales. Waste Oil is going
strong and is beginning to
expand through the Columbia
Distribution as well.
Consequently, we are incluG
ing information that may be of
help to you in the Waste Oil
and related markets.
Our company is involved in a
"continuous
improvement"
program relatingto the CT
Boiler, with an emphasis on
making a good product even
more appealing. We will Pro
vide more information on this
as we continue to develoP our
WASTE OTr BOTTERS
FnEeUENTLY Asreo QuesrloNS
1-) How much used oil,
transmission fluid, or cooking
oil must a customer
generate or pick up per
year to make buying a
waste oil boiler a practical
decision The average
minimum volume of used
oilthey must generate annually
is between 500 and
700 gallons. The can also
burn # 2 fuel oil if they run
short of used oil.
2.) Doesn't a used-oil
boiler produce blach sooty
smoke and pollute the air
Absolutely not. A Columbia
Waste Oil Boiler burns as
cfeanly as a #2 fuel-oil
boiler. In fact, it is de
signed to burn #2 fuel oil
in addition to used oil.
3.) Won't various viscosities
of crankcase or trang
mission oil affect the combustion
efficiency of tfte
boileP No. Our stateoftheart
burners are de
signed to accommodate a
range of oil viscosities
from 10w to 50w.
4.) How often willcustomers
have to clean the ash
from the inside of the
boilel A customer can
expect to clean their boiler
every 5OO-1OOO hours of
operation on average, de.
pending on their fuel.
Cleaningyour boiler is a
safe and easy procedure,
which takes only about 3O
minutes and keeps efficiency
up and stack temperatures
down.
5.) Whatstheaverage
lenglh of timefor payback
on a usedoilboiler Dependingon
average temperatures
in your re$on,
customers enjoy an 1-8 to
24 month ROl.
6.) Whatis "cradleto
gfave" liability and how
can itaffectthe way poterF
tial customers dispose of
used oil The federal government
hold generators
of used oil direcfly and irrevoca
bly responsible for
pollution management,
clean-up and disposal control
of used oil. Simply put,
the liability for used oil exists
until it is burned (1.e.
recycled).
7.) lsn't it more convenient
and less troublesome
for a potential customer,
hauler or refiner to trans
port their waste oil lt may
be easy for a used oil generator
to pay a hauler to
pick up and dispose used
oil. But in doing so, they
are giving away valuable
fuelwhich could be used
to produce free hot water
or steam generated by a
Columbia Waste Oil Boiler.
8.) Who can I rely on for
supporF Columbia Boiler
