This course covers the principles<br />
of major green building design<br />
including water harvesting<br />
systems, waste management<br />
systems, renewable energy<br />
systems and energy efficient<br />

This course covers the<br />
fundamental concepts of<br />
project management. Students<br />
will be introduced the<br />
management of project scope,<br />
time, cost, quality, effective<br />
site organization, human<br />
resources, risk,communication,<br />

over. Students will also<br />
understand the role of IT<br />
and learn how to use Microsoft<br />

TA821 COMPUTER PROGRAMMING<br />
The basic concepts of<br />
programming are taught using<br />
the C language. Students will have<br />
a lot of opportunities in writing<br />
software programme which will<br />
allow them to gain experience<br />
and confidence. This course<br />
includes the C foundation, input<br />
and output, flow control, loops,<br />
reading from data source and<br />
arrays. Students will learn how to<br />
apply their knowledge and skills<br />
to solve simple problems.<br />
TA864 BIM FOR M&E<br />
In this course, students will be<br />
exposed to Building Information<br />
Modeling (BIM) for the design<br />
and modelling of Mechanical,<br />
Electrical and Plumbing (MEP)<br />
systems for buildings. Students<br />
will be taught how to use the<br />
architectural and structural<br />
models to generate report which<br />
they will use to design and model<br />
the MEP for buildings.<br />
FA029 STRENGTH OF MATERIALS<br />
This course covers the concept<br />
of Hooke’s Law, the relationship<br />
of stress and strain. It enables<br />
students to indentify different<br />
type of stresses and strains, and<br />
their applications. The course<br />
also includes bending moment<br />
and drawing of Mohr’s stress and<br />
strain circles to find measured<br />
stress and strain.<br />
FA222 ACMV TECHNOLOGY 2<br />
This course covers the concepts<br />
and principles in the design<br />
and selection of building airconditioning<br />
and ventilation<br />
systems. Topics include<br />
mechanical ventilation system,<br />
system selection, envelope<br />
thermal transfer value (ETTV),<br />
indoor air quality, and operation<br />
of energy efficient system.<br />
Students will also be introduced<br />
to the principles of good indoor<br />
air quality control and operation<br />
of energy efficient system.<br />
FA283 GREEN MARK MANAGER<br />
This course covers the scoring<br />
criteria for the Singapore’s Green<br />
Mark standard. Students will<br />
apply what they learn to propose<br />
building design so as to achieve<br />
certain Green Mark standards.<br />
FA413 FIRE SAFETY MANAGEMENT<br />
Students will be taught various<br />
fire safety requirements and<br />
measures to enable them to<br />
undertake the role of a Fire Safety<br />
Manager. Topics covered include<br />
fire protection systems and<br />
maintenance, fundamentals of<br />
fire safety design, basic firemanship<br />
case studies and practical<br />
sessions.<br />
