Functional Grammar<br />

Examinee will be required to attempt five questions in all.Questions<br />

on each unit will have three parts: - A, B and C.<br />

Part A<br />

Fifteen objective type questions will be set based on all units and each<br />

carrying one mark each. (15 x 1 = 15)<br />

Part B<br />

Ten Short answer questions from all units to be set, two from each<br />

unit. Five questions to be attempted, one from each unit (Word limit<br />

100 words each). (5 x 4 = 20)<br />

Part C<br />

Ten long answer questions to be set, at least one from each unit and<br />

five to be attempted. (5X 10 = 50).<br />

Noun Phrase; Analysis by Tree Diagram<br />

Modifiers; Pre-Modifiers and Post-Modifiers<br />

Possessive Pronouns/Adjectives<br />

The Syntactic and Orthographic rules of using the possessive pronouns<br />

Unit <strong>II</strong><br />

Words used for Expressing different time and space relationships, like<br />

Perfective, Continuative etc.<br />

Modal Auxiliaries for expressing the desired Mood, Emotion, Attitude<br />

Unit <strong>II</strong>I<br />

Words/Forms used in Requests, Denials, Facts, Hypothesis.
