Jan. 5 A meeting was held in ChemChina by its Safety Committee, conveying the safety requirements of the State Administration of Work Safety. ChemChina President Ren Jianxin a u t h o r i z e d C h e m C h i n a ' s 2 0 0 7 initiatives for safe production. www.chemchina.com.cn Jan. 30 China National Advanced Chemical M a t e r i a l s C o r p o r a t i o n , a s a transferee, signed a contract with Hunan Huasheng Industrial & Trading Imp. & Exp. (Group) Corp to acquire 100% of Hunan Xiangwei Co., Ltd. By using pressure swing adsorption (PSA) gas separation technology from the Southwest Research & Design Institute of Chemical Industry (SWRDICI), ChemChina took the lead to build a successful MSW (municipal solid waste) green energy environmental protection project in Hong Kong. Jiangsu Anpon Electrochemical Co., Ltd.'s 20,000 t/a ECH (epichlorohydrin) p r o j e c t w a s c o m p l e t e d a n d commissioned. Feb. 9 T h e D i s c i p l i n e I n s p e c t i o n Committee of ChemChina held a c o n f e r e n c e , c o n v e y i n g t h e principles of the Seventh Plenary C o n f e r e n c e o f t h e C e n t r a l C o m m i s s i o n f o r D i s c i p l i n e I n s p e c t i o n a n d t h e C e n t r a l Enterprises Discipline Inspection and Supervision Conference. At the meeting, the committee summed up and announced the commencement o f C h e m C h i n a ' s d i s c i p l i n e inspection and supervision work. ChemChina President Ren Jianxin addressed the meeting. (Above) Mar. 7 Feb. 18 The President of ChemChina, Ren Jianxin made a survey tour of five enterprises in Shanxi and Henan Province and paid a visit to employees working during the New Year holiday. Feb. 27 At the 2006 National Science and Technology Awards Conference, the Clean Catalytic Phenol Alkylation Technology and Industrial Application Project of the Wuxi Resin Plant won the Second Prize for 2006 National Science and Technology Progress. Zhonghao Chenguang Research Institute of Chemical Industry was approved as an IPR (Intellectual Property Right) Demonstration Enterprise by the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO). ChemChina President Ren Jianxin attended t h e m e e t i n g a n d e n c o u r a g e d the women to contribute to the development of a harmonious enterprise. Mar. 23 Thanks to tireless efforts, Qenos Australia Pty. Ltd. won an award from the Australian Government for its outstanding water-saving achievements. Mar. 28 Cosponsored by ChemChina, Hainan Provincial Government, German DECHEMA and HSBC HK, the 07 Bo'ao International Advanced Materials Mar. 9 President of ChemChina Ren Jianxin, together with the President of China Construction Bank Zhang Jianguo, exchanged views on the bankenterprise cooperation and unified assets management of ChemChina. ChemChina chose China Construction Bank as its financial advisor and discussed promoting strategic cooperation in financial management, finance, project construction, overseas listings and other aspects. Mar. 13 ChemChina issued a document, Suggestions on Learning f r om t he Team-building Experiences of BlueStar Petroleum Co., Ltd. Tianjin Branch , directing all subsidiaries to study the successful experiences of Tianjin branch, strengthen their own team-building and improve t h e q u a l i t y of e m p l oyees a n d management. Apr. 7 ChemChina held its CPC Party Delegate Conference in Beijing. The conference elected Ren Jianxin and three other delegates to represent ChemChina at the CPC Beijing-based Central Enterprises Conference. Yu Zhengsheng, Member of the Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee and secretary of Hubei Provincial CPC Party Committee, and Luo Qingquan, Governor of Hubei Province, accompanied by Meng Jianzhu, Secretary of the Jiangxi Provincial CPC Party Committee, and the Governor of Jiangxi Province Wu Xinxiong, made a survey tour of Jiangxi Xinghuo Organic Silicone Plant. Forum was held in Bo'ao, Hainan. The Deputy Director of the NPC Standing Committee, Gu Xiulian, the Deputy Director of National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), Zhang Guobao, Hainan Provincial CPC Party Secretary Wei Liucheng and the Chairman of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association, Li Yongwu all attended the forum. ChemChina President Ren Jianxin also delivered a speech at the forum. Apr. 19 ChemChina Methods for Investment M a n a g e m e n t w a s i s s u e d a n d implementation began. www.chemchina.com.cn Mar. 15 Sun Huashan, Deputy Director of the State Administration of Work Safety and his entourage toured ChemChina reviewing safety improvements. Ren Jianxin, President of ChemChina briefed him on the safety efforts of the Corporation. Apr. 16 ChemChina President Ren Jianxin led an administrative level meeting to relay the content of the IT Solutions Conference held by SASAC (Stateowned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission) and to plan for ChemChina's Enterprise IT Solutions. Apr. 20 With approval of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), ChemChina successfully issued corporate bonds of RMB1.5 billion. This was the first time ChemChina issued bonds under its name. February 2008 2
