This month, we went to the Streatham Theatre
Company’s performance “Access All Eras”, a
night time tour of the Streatham Hill Theatre
based on the star-studded history of this
spectacular 1928 building. Well-informed
guides led us down abandoned corridors,
and as we peeked behind closed doors, the
company told the story of a Theatre Manager’s
tragic romance with an actress. They used
an old manager’s office, a dressing-room,
backstage, and the atmospheric basement bar
to unfold the tale.” This was a brilliant sitespecific
piece that made great use of the wealth
of opportunity presented by this marvellous old

Last month we got involved with the Streatham
Festival 2015 Board, and I have also been
elected to chair Streatham Action. Want a

earlier this year,
and now Lambeth
Council’s Scrutiny
Committee will be
placing the “Envirocrime”
officers under
the microscope in a
public meeting on the
11th at the Streatham
Tate Centre at the library. Come and hear what
they’ve been doing about environmental abuse.
The most impressive and moving event of the
month was the Remembrance Service at the
War Memorial, attended by around 800 people.
We will remember them.
