STUDY OBJECTIVES ● Analyze recent mussel survey data obtained by Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism (KDWPT) ● Compile and evaluate available data on historical mussel distributions in Kansas (i.e., perform extensive literature review and examine selected museum and university shell collections) ● For each native mussel species, prepare a statewide map depicting any major changes in population distribution documented during the past 150+ years
