The sport for all that exercises the body and mind. Make new friends and learn new
skills, then try to outwit your opponent. You will bowl indoors if it rains. Children
cost £2 but adults can join in for free if they fancy a go on the day.

HGT1 is Tri-Golf, a ‘mini’ version of golf designed specifically for young children at
infant, primary and junior schools.
HGT2 involves tuition during the first part of the session, followed by challenges
and the opportunity to play a few holes. Prizes for the winners. Refreshments
available for purchase.

HTR1 is a fun beginner’s tag rugby taster session for both boys and girls. All rugby
is non-contact.
HTR2 offers both beginners and those who have played before, the chance to play

GEAR UP AND GET CYCLING

■■ Water Sports with Chelmsford Canoe Club
Learn new and improve existing skills on the water with qualified instructors. All
participants must be able to swim 50m in clothing. Consent forms must be signed by
parents on arrival.
HIC1 is a three day Kayaking Skills course. Older children will be given the
opportunity to gain a BCU 1 Star Award (weather permitting).
HIC2 is for Kayak Slalom Beginners. An introduction to the Olympic Canoeing
discipline of Slalom. Learn essential paddling skills then see how quickly you can go
through the course without touching any poles.
HIC3 is a Canoe taster. Enjoy paddling two-person open canoes along the rivers of
Chelmsford.
HIC4 is an Introduction to Flatwater Racing, another Olympic Canoeing discipline.
Receive initial training of paddling forwards then try racing kayaks over the new
Olympic distance of 200m. Can you get close to the current World Champion time
of 36 seconds

Chelmsford Council to be part of Play Sport 2012 and offer everyone,
of all ages the chance to take part in something new. Free coaching,

■■ Bikeability
The cycling proficiency of the 21st century!
HBK1 is Bikeability Level 1 where you learn to control your bike. To receive your
Level 1 certificate you must show you have the skills to ride where there are no
cars and that you are ready to start your road training. All work will be done away
from the road.
HBK2 is Bikeability Level 2, a four day course where you start riding with real
traffic, sticking to quiet roads. To receive your Level 2 certificate you must show you
have the skills to make a trip safely on to quiet roads and cycle lanes.
Please bring your own bike and helmet.
