The Dehydro <strong>6480</strong> Redispersible Polymer<br />

Powder redisperses in water to produce final<br />

characteristics of a liquid vinyl acrylic<br />

dispersion.<br />

The Dehydro <strong>6480</strong> is used wherever a<br />

binder or performance modifier of a vinyl<br />

acrylic dispersion is needed, but where the<br />

desired end product is in powder form.<br />

Incorporating Dehydro <strong>6480</strong> improves the<br />

application properties of a standard mortar<br />

mix. Dehydro <strong>6480</strong> improves flexibility,<br />

adhesion properties, mechanical properties,<br />

workability and working time.<br />

Storage:<br />

Dehydro <strong>6480</strong> should be stored in a dry<br />

location, avoiding damp or humid conditions.<br />

Preferably avoid temperatures exceeding<br />

25ºC. It is recommended to avoid stacking<br />

items on top of bags without a protective<br />

cardboard outer, so as to avoid caking.<br />

Opened sacks should be used promptly.<br />

Storage life should not exceed six months.<br />

Dehydro <strong>6480</strong> blended with cementitious<br />

binders or fillers has a better storage life due to<br />

the inherent nature of the made up product.<br />

Processing:<br />

Dehydro <strong>6480</strong> Redispersible Polymer Powder<br />

will redisperse in water to form a dispersion. The<br />

Dehydro range of products are able to blended<br />

with other additives to produce a powder based<br />

finished product such as mortars, adhesives and<br />

other compounds. When the finished product is<br />

being mixed with water, high temperatures and<br />

severe agitation should be avoided, so as to avoid<br />

the inclusion of air and lumping of the mixture due<br />

to thermoplastic agglomeration. Before use, the<br />

made up product performs best if allowed to stand<br />

for 30 seconds, then remixed for use.<br />
