KASILOF BOAT HARBOR CEMETERY<br />

<strong>Kasilof</strong>, Alaska<br />

The <strong>Kasilof</strong> <strong>Boat</strong> <strong>Harbor</strong> <strong>Cemetery</strong> is near <strong>Kasilof</strong>, Kenai Peninsula Borough, Alaska. It is located<br />

on <strong>Kasilof</strong> Beach Stub which intersects at mile 5.1 of Kalifornsky Beach Road. The cemetery is<br />

7/10ths of a mile from the intersection and is located on the right in a stand of trees. The tops of<br />

large rounded wooden grave markers can be seen from the road. Read September 4, 2002.<br />

(Grave is fenced. The headboard was stolen about 30<br />

years ago. A headboard recovered by the Soldotna<br />

Police about 20 years ago and stored at the archeology<br />

department of the Kenai Peninsula College is believed<br />

to be the missing headboard. This board reads:<br />

In Memory Of – Fred Sandel – a Native Of Finland<br />

– Aged 70 – Died – Oct 9, 1925.<br />

Fred Sandel is known to have worked out of the cannery<br />

at <strong>Kasilof</strong> <strong>Harbor</strong>.)<br />

**Note: 2010 this has been confirmed as the grave of<br />

Fred Sandel**<br />
