Either way, an additional way to support St. Paul’s is through a bequest or other means as part of your estate plan. For a long-time donor, it represents a final, significant gift to a long-time friend. For others it is a way to make a sizeable gift from one’s estate. A bequest in one’s will designates a specific amount, a portion of your estate or the remainder to St. Paul’s. This allows the donorsto continue to support St. Paul’s even after they have passed away. A bequest to St. Paul’s may be designated to a specific program or need, or it can be given without any restrictions. Choosing the latter option allows St. Paul’s to use the funds where there is a specific need at the time that they are received. Life income plans are another option for making an estate gift to St. Paul’s. These gifts, such as charitable gift annuities, provide the donor with income for life and tax benefits while the donor is living, and a gift to St. Paul’s after the donor passes away. Additional details and illustrations of life income gifts is available from the Development Office also. Donors who inform St. Paul’s that they have included St. Paul’s in their estate plan, either through a bequest or another means (life income plan, insurance policy, etc.) become members of the St. Paul’s Legacy Society. In addition to recognizing these donors for their commitments, the Legacy Society enables St. Paul’s to discuss with the donor how their estate gift might be used when received.
