Dear Scout or Scouter,
ORDER OF THE ARROW,
BLUE OX LODGE #26
GAMEHAVEN COUNCIL
Congratulations on attaining your Ordeal Membership in the
Order of the Arrow. More than 10 months have passed since
you first took the obligation, and now is the time to finish sealing your membership
in the Order. It is the purpose of the Ordeal to have the candidate reflect on his
own Scout life and character and come to a deeper understanding of the Scout
Oath and the principles of the Order.
You are encouraged to attend one of the following opportunities to continue to help
your unit and your lodge:
May 13 th – 15 th , 2011 - Register with the Scout Office by April 29, 2011
August 19 th – 21 nd , 2011 - Register with the Scout Office by August 5, 2011
The Brotherhood process begins prior to your arrival for the weekend when you
prepare a letter to the Lodge Secretary. When you prepare your letter, include what
the obligation means to you, and how you have been fulfilling the obligation in both
your unit and your daily life, how you have demonstrated your understanding of the
traditions of the Ordeal, and how you look to help the lodge.
Other requirements to fulfill the Brotherhood Honor are to memorize the signs of
Arrow membership, Advance your understanding of the Ordeal, and Plan for service
in the lodge. Details of the Brotherhood Challenges can be found in your handbook
on page 50. These requirements will be demonstrated during your Brotherhood
class held during the weekend.
Check-in for the weekend begins on Friday evening at 6:30 PM. Please eat dinner
before coming. The weekend will finish about 11 AM on Sunday.
Required Equipment List
1. Your completed and signed BSA Health History Form (parent/guardian must sign for
youth candidates).
2. Any medications in a Ziploc bag – please write your name, the dosage and ailment on
bag.
3. Work clothes (These need to be clothes you do not mind being permanently stained, i.e.
paint or dirt.)

3. Insect Repellent (non-aerosol)
4. Sun Protection lotion
5. Water Bottle
6. Work Gloves
7. Sleeping bag
8. Clothes appropriate for the weather
9. Tent with Ground cloth
10. Complete Class A Uniform
11. Personal grooming item
12. Day Pack
DO NOT BRING ELECTRONIC GAMES, RADIOS, TV, ETC…

This weekend of Brotherhood will cost $30.00. Please fill out the form below and
send it to the scout office by the date indicated. This $30.00 covers your
Brotherhood sash and all your meals for the conclave. If you would like to
purchase OA memorabilia, we will have a small trading post open periodically
during the Conclave. Feel free to bring some money for the trading post.
