strength. The sport of power lifting is a sport that requires
competitors to, on a seasonal basis, lift their maximum single
repetition in the barbell back squat, the barbell dead lift, and
the barbell bench press. The purpose of this session is to
three lifts to maximize success in the sport of power lifting.
#12 Fitness
Mobility Assessment: A Critical Skill for the
Personal Trainer Room: Fitness Centre
Wyatt Inman, Instructor Holland College
Performing exercises incorrectly is associated with a
high risk of developing either an acute or a chronic
injury. New exercisers often come to a fitness center
with negative postural issues and reduced mobility in
both the hip and shoulder joint. It is the responsibility
of the trainer to assess these issues and provide
programming that minimizes the risk of injury associated
with the exercise program. The purpose of this
session is to introduce you to two simple movement
screens and some associated corrective exercises
that are commonly used in our industry.
