General Education (GE) Subject Information
Who are required to take GE subjects
If you are a Full-time UGC-funded 3-year curriculum undergraduate degree student, you are
required to pass two 2-credit GE subjects from two different categories (one from "China Studies" and
one from "Broadening").
If you are a Full-time UGC-funded Higher Diploma student admitted before 2012-13 or a Higher
Diploma programme in Nursing – programmes 53064-FT and 53064-DSE student admitted in
2012-13, you are required to pass one 2-credit GE subject from the category of "China Studies".
If you are a Full-time UGC-funded/self-financed articulation Bachelor’s degree student admitted
after 2008-09 and before 2012-13, you are required to take one two-credit GE subject. Whether the
GE subject would be a "Broadening" or "China Studies" GE subject will be subject to the decision of
the programme offering department with reference to the background of students concerned.
If you are a Full-time Self-financed/Part-time degree programmes student and are required to take
GE subjects to fulfill graduation requirement, please contact programme offering department for details.
Which semester can you take a GE subject
You can take GE subjects in any semesters during your study unless otherwise specified by your
department/definitive programme document.

3. Click Subject Code, e.g. ABCT12345
4. Click this button for viewing
GE Exclusion information.
5. You can view the exclusion information of the selected
Broadening GE subject here,
e.g. Students from Dept ABCT or students from
programme 11039 are not allowed to select ABCT12345.
