<strong>General</strong> <strong>Education</strong> (<strong>GE</strong>) <strong>Subject</strong> <strong>Information</strong><br />
Who are required to take <strong>GE</strong> subjects<br />
If you are a Full-time UGC-funded 3-year curriculum undergraduate degree student, you are<br />
required to pass two 2-credit <strong>GE</strong> subjects from two different categories (one from "China Studies" and<br />
one from "Broadening").<br />

If you are a Full-time UGC-funded Higher Diploma student admitted before 2012-13 or a Higher<br />
Diploma programme in Nursing – programmes 53064-FT and 53064-DSE student admitted in<br />
2012-13, you are required to pass one 2-credit <strong>GE</strong> subject from the category of "China Studies".<br />
If you are a Full-time UGC-funded/self-financed articulation Bachelor’s degree student admitted<br />
after 2008-09 and before 2012-13, you are required to take one two-credit <strong>GE</strong> subject. Whether the<br />
<strong>GE</strong> subject would be a "Broadening" or "China Studies" <strong>GE</strong> subject will be subject to the decision of<br />
the programme offering department with reference to the background of students concerned.<br />
If you are a Full-time Self-financed/Part-time degree programmes student and are required to take<br />
<strong>GE</strong> subjects to fulfill graduation requirement, please contact programme offering department for details.<br />

You can take <strong>GE</strong> subjects in any semesters during your study unless otherwise specified by your<br />
department/definitive programme document.<br />
