Physical Education
Academics are balanced by an energetic Physical Education curriculum in the
Sixth Form. A wide range of activities are on offer to cater for those who want
to experience something new, as well as the more serious performers. All girls
participate in one double lesson of PE each week.
In the Lower Sixth, girls have the opportunity to work toward the Community
Sports Leader Award, a nationally recognised course that develops leadership
follow this route can choose from a range of activities which are based at the
Swiss Cottage Leisure Centre.
In the Upper Sixth, girls can get involved in a wider selection of activities
through partnerships with UCS and at Swiss Cottage Leisure Centre.
The activities on offer to both Lower and Upper Sixth include rock climbing,
and each one will run for a whole term. The activities on offer will change each
year in order for students to try as many different activities as possible.
SHHS also has a lively extra-curricular programme. We actively encourage girls
to run or assist with clubs, or even to take the initiative to start a new club if
they feel something is missing. Sixth Formers play in the Senior School teams –
netball, hockey, rounders, tennis; help coach junior teams and assist in additional
selected from the Sixth Form. This team of girls help to promote PE and Sport
within SHHS and are excellent role models to younger students.
In the lower Sixth, girls have the opportunity
