The second brew of the Mild Pilgrimage Ale was available from the end of September through until November; this meant unfortunately the second brew was not available for the Ale Trail period. Available throughout the August to September period were Summer Ale (4.5%) and Rector’s Revenge (5.0%). This second beer together with Harvest Ale (4.7%) had an appearance at the Plumpton Beer and Blues Festival, while a superb cask of Best Bitter (4.5%) was on sale at the Festival of Sussex Tipples, Burgess Hill. The November Bonfire Special will be Bonfire Toffee Ale (4.9%). Paul Free rother valley Northiam, 01797 252922. This year’s first batch of Blues will be ready for the end of October. Available for November will be a new seasonal beer, Chocolate Porter (4.5%). Sales at the brewery remain steady. Jamaican Stout will be a dry-hopped version of the popular Export Stout. There will again be twelve beers of Christmas. Why not try them all Some beer is so popular it is being sold in 18-gallon casks. Bottled sales are going well. Look out for Santa’s Six Pack in gift bags, which will be available from both the brewery and Beer Essentials, Horsham. More exciting news is that there will be a Rock and Ale Festival at the brewery on Saturday 3 December (tickets from Beer Essentials) to promote local bands and good beer.
