Parents in Buildings
School policy is that parents should not
enter school corridors without
authorisation. Visitor badges are available
from the general office to allow visits to
classrooms etc. The Department of
Education has asked schools to adopt
strategies that assist the security of students
and belongings. Your co-operation in
adhering to this policy including before and
after school is encouraged.
On wet mornings an announcement will be
made over the PA system (usually around
8.50am) when students can enter the
buildings/classrooms - Staff members will
then be in attendance in classrooms/or a
shared supervision arrangement will be in
place. Parents should not assume that
because it is wet or cold that this procedure
is in place — a PA announcement has to be
made first.

We would ask that ALL money and unsold
chocolates be returned to the school as
soon as possible. Thank you to all families
that have already returned payment.
Unfortunately a large amount of unsold
chocolates have also been returned to the
school. If you found it relatively easy to
sell your box of chocolates and think that
you could help sell another please forward
your child's name and class to the office
and a box will be forwarded home with
your child.

expect a delay with every possibility of stock being sold out.
Please make sure your child’s name and grade are on all order forms
and on the envelope marked “BookClub”.

bag in blue, black or red ink, any other
marker is difficult to read. Please do not
sticky tape lunch bags up. A reminder to
enclose .10 cents for a bag if an envelope is

SWIMMING PROGRAM 1
A reminder that the swimming program for Grades 1/2B, 2D, 2G, 4B, 4G, 4V, 5/6C, 6K, 6N and 6S begins next
Monday.
We ask that all swimming items, including a towel be labelled with your child’s name and brought in a named swim
bag. Students must have a swim cap and goggles
Students may wear their bathers under their school uniform to school and we ask to have all school uniform items
labelled with your child’s name.
Bus departure times from school are below with the swim session commencing 30 minutes later.

Parents are more than welcome to watch the lessons however need to remain in the observation area and not enter the
pool deck. All queries regarding the program must be directed to the class teacher who will communicate with the
Program Supervisor. We insist that no parent speaks directly to swimming instructors unless a matter of safety or
emergency management.
FATHERS DAY STALL
Dear Mums and students,
Fathers’ Day is nearly upon us and the Parents’ and Friends’ Association will be
holding its annual Fathers’ Day Stall on:
Friday August 30th 2013.
Students will be brought to the stall by their classroom teacher at allocated times
during the day, and will be given the opportunity to purchase a gift for Dad!
If you would like your child to participate, please provide him/her with:
1) Money wrapped in plastic/foil or in a purse/wallet (clearly named)
2) A plastic bag (clearly named).
Gifts at the Stall will range from
50 cents to $5.50
(Most students buy a couple of items)
There will also be a raffle drawn on the day.
Tickets will be 20c each with a maximum of 5 per child.
These will be on sale at the stall.

Fathers’ Day Raffle Donations
Fathers’ Day is coming up and we are getting together some raffle prizes. If anyone could help us out this year with a
few small items or maybe a voucher from their business it would be appreciated. (We had a wonderful response to our
Mothers’ Day raffle and the students – and the PFA – were very grateful!)
Fathers’ Day Stall - Helpers Needed
Helpers are needed to serve at the Parents’ and Friends’ Association’s Fathers’ Day Stall on Friday August 30th 2013
from 9.15am till 1.30pm, and then to tidy up afterwards.
It is great fun, and you will be provided with a scrumptious morning tea!
