Green Nanoscience
• Jim Hutchinson, chemistry professor at the
University of Oregon, is leading the way to push
using principals of green chemistry as
nanoscience develops. [1]
• He is director of Safer Nanomaterials and
Nanomanufacturing Initiative, the goal of which
is to “develop new nanomaterials and
nanomanufacturing approaches that offer a
high level of performance, yet pose minimal
harm to human health or the environment.” [2]
