Scholarship
Donation Request
Burlington Parks and Recreation strives to provide high quality, affordable recreation programs
which meet the needs of all members of our community. At full cost, recreation programs are
not always accessible for some families and their children. Scholarships make programs more
affordable for families who need it and ensure access to programs that keep kids active and
build character. The scholarship funds are subsidized by the city, but the number of families
who qualify far exceeds the funds available. In order to provide adequate support for Burlington
families, the Parks and Recreation Department relies on the generosity of the community for
additional financial support. Please consider including a donation to the scholarship fund with
your fall registration fee. See the Scholarship Application in the back of this book.
Thank You!
SEASONS OF CHANGE
Believer, skeptic or bystander, few would deny that ”climate change” is a hot topic. From
Molly’s Girls
Molly was a CityKid at Champlain School
when she asked Yvette why there weren’t
any summer camps for “little girls”.
Yvette then asked Molly what girld her
age would like to do at summer camp. We
named Molly’s Girls after Molly becaue
many of the activities we do at camp were
her vary own ideas!
Molly’s Girls Specials
242 MAIN Celebrates
25 years of youth!
242 MAIN celebrates 25 years of youth programs,
music and art throughout the upcoming year. In
its history, the dark corner of Memorial Auditorium
has seen generations of young people express
themselves learn and grow through music/art
and social interaction with peers. Even though
Burlington Vermont is “off the beaten path” from
many of the large urban hubs, such as NYC
and Boston, 242 Main has helped develop and
maintain a national focus on our northern City.
Over the last 10 years we have seen a rebirth of
the program direction at 242 Main. In addition to
continuing the tradition of weekly music events
that have attracted some of the most well
known rock acts to our region over the last 25
years, 242 Main has become a music education
center. With year-round programs for youth, we
continue to push the envelope of programming
and development. We know that inspiring young
artists is not onlyour legacy, but our charge forthe
future. Keep an eye out forgoings-on at 242
Main…or simply stop by and feel the history.
