<strong>SDTA</strong> McDonalds Junior Development Squad<br />
<strong>SDTA</strong> Junior Players,<br />
The <strong>SDTA</strong> McDonalds Junior Development Squad has a number of vacancies<br />
and will be holding FREE Trials on July 5th for junior players who are<br />
interested in joining.<br />
Players are accepted into the squad by invitation from the <strong>SDTA</strong> Committee,<br />
players are encouraged to submit an expression of interest in joining the<br />
squad. This FREE Trial session will provide junior players an opportunity to<br />
trial the squad for a FULL session and express an interest in joining the squad<br />
in Term 3 in a permanent position.<br />
The Squad is operated by <strong>SDTA</strong> and delivered by two qualified and<br />
experienced <strong>Tennis</strong> Australia certified coaches. The squad is held for 8 weeks<br />
each school term on a Friday evening at Glen Alpine <strong>Tennis</strong> Centre. Each<br />
session runs for a total of 2 hours, consisting of 90 minutes of on court drills<br />
and exercises and 30 minutes of fitness training.<br />
The McDonalds Junior Development Squad costs $100 per term, and is<br />
subsidised by <strong>SDTA</strong> through the Junior Incentive Award Scheme.<br />

. Experienced <strong>Tennis</strong> Coaches Required<br />
<strong>SDTA</strong> is looking for experienced and qualified coaches who are interested in<br />
obtaining the tender for some of our local tennis centres. We are offering great<br />
rates for coaches to help get your business up and running, as well as support<br />
from our <strong>Association</strong>.<br />

2013/14 Membership Fees<br />
<strong>Southern</strong> <strong>Districts</strong> <strong>Tennis</strong> <strong>Association</strong> Inc current membership will expire as of July 1 2013 unless<br />
renewed.<br />
Notice is hereby given to all members of an increase in membership fees which are published on the<br />
2013/14 membership form.<br />
As part of the <strong>Association</strong>s membership program, in the coming membership year, members will see<br />
greater benefits and value from the Membership with <strong>SDTA</strong> through the partnership with local<br />
businesses.<br />
As of July 1 2013, a new Social Membership package will be introduced to provide an opportunity to<br />
tennis players who play socially but do not wish to compete in <strong>SDTA</strong> Competitions.<br />

Changes to <strong>SDTA</strong> Senior Competitions<br />
Effective 1 July 2013, competition entry fees will be changed to a team registration fee instead of an<br />
individual registration fee. The fees will be:<br />
• 3 Player Competitions – competitions requiring a minimum of 3 players per team - Registration<br />
Fee: $50<br />
• 4 Player Competitions – competitions requiring a minimum of 4 players per team - Registration<br />
Fee: $60<br />
Prize money will also be adjusted inline with the new entry fee format:<br />
• 3 Player Competitions – competitions requiring a minimum of 3 players per team - Prize Money:<br />
$150<br />
• 4 Player Competitions – competitions requiring a minimum of 4 players per team - Prize Money:<br />
$200<br />
These new formats will be applicable for all senior competitions which commence on, or after 1 July<br />
2013.<br />
All prize money will continue to be awarded at the completion of each competition in the form of a gift<br />
voucher as noted in The <strong>Bulletin</strong> December 5th 2012 (Issue 53).<br />

INTER DISTRICT TEAMS 2013<br />
An information meeting be held on Saturday 20 th July in BBQ area of <strong>Tennis</strong> Club. Managers<br />
to meet at 11.30 & players at 12.00. A “goodwill” sausage sizzle for everyone be held to<br />
promote new comp & ID.It is important that all players/managers attend as draws and shirts will<br />
be given out on the day.<br />
Congratulations to all players chosen to represent southern districts in the 2013 inter district<br />
competition. Competition starts on 21 st july for Opens & juniors & 16 th June for Seniors.<br />

There were insufficient teams in the Angus & Coote Cup and this competition will not be run in 2013.<br />
The Senior Ladies has been reduced to 2 rounds instead of 3 and will commence Sunday 14 th July<br />
