Shuttle service<br />

The distance from T.F. <strong>Green</strong> <strong>Airport</strong> to <strong>the</strong> downtown area is 9 miles and Taxi's will cost approximately<br />

$30.00 each way. The airport shuttle is available 7 days a week from 5:00 am to 11:00 pm. The shuttle<br />

leaves <strong>the</strong> airport every hour on <strong>the</strong> hour. From <strong>the</strong> hotels <strong>the</strong>y leave every hour on <strong>the</strong> ½ hour. After<br />

Logan <strong>Airport</strong><br />

Logan <strong>Airport</strong> is situated approximately 49 miles north <strong>of</strong> Providence. Outlined below are public and<br />

private transportation options.<br />

The majority <strong>of</strong> international flights arrive at <strong>the</strong> terminal E; some international flights leave <strong>the</strong>


terminals. At <strong>the</strong> Information Center <strong>the</strong>y will communicate in <strong>one</strong>’s own language. The center <strong>of</strong><br />

information is situated in <strong>the</strong> terminal E leaving <strong>the</strong> customs area.<br />

Massport <strong>of</strong>fers free service between airline terminals and all airport locations for persons with<br />

Rental cars<br />

Currently, 8 rental car companies operate at Logan International <strong>Airport</strong>. They include: Alamo, Avis,<br />

Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National and Thrifty.<br />

In Terminals C & E, all rental car companies have direct line teleph<strong>one</strong> boards connecting to <strong>the</strong> local<br />

facility and <strong>the</strong>ir worldwide reservation centers.<br />

Each rental car company has complimentary shuttle buses that transport passengers to/from <strong>the</strong><br />

terminal and <strong>the</strong> rental car facility. Shuttles run frequently and stop curbside on <strong>the</strong> arrival level for<br />

passengers to board. Departure level service is available on request.<br />

Amtrak<br />

Amtrak <strong>of</strong>fers many daily runs between South Station and Providence. South Station may be accessed<br />

from Logan <strong>Airport</strong> by ei<strong>the</strong>r Silver Line Shuttle or Taxi. The Silver Line service takes approximately<br />

twenty minutes. An adult fare is $1.25. A taxi will cost about $15.00 and will take about 10 minutes.<br />

***All taxi's departing Logan are charged an additional fee <strong>of</strong> $2.00, plus a $4.50 fee for harbor tunnel<br />

crossings. Always ask driver for a receipt.<br />

Regional trains take 48 minutes and range in price from $12.00 to $19.00<br />

The Acela ranges from $22.00 - $45.00 and takes 40 minutes<br />

The Providence Train station is located 5 blocks from <strong>the</strong> Westin, Courtyard and Biltmore.<br />

Taxis are readily available outside <strong>the</strong> station. Cost is approximately $5.00<br />

Driving Directions<br />

Located at <strong>the</strong> intersection <strong>of</strong> I-95 and I-195, Providence is 40 miles from Boston (about a <strong>one</strong> hour car<br />

From <strong>the</strong> North:<br />

Interstate 95 South to Exit 22A. Follow <strong>the</strong> signs towards Downtown/Convention Center. Go through <strong>the</strong><br />

first light in <strong>the</strong> right hand lane. Take your first right after <strong>the</strong> light. Take <strong>the</strong> next right onto Exchange<br />

Street. After <strong>the</strong> next light, <strong>the</strong> hotel will immediately be on your right.<br />

From <strong>the</strong> South:<br />

Interstate 95 North to Exit 22A. Follow <strong>the</strong> signs towards Downtown/Convention Center. At <strong>the</strong> light,<br />

turn right onto Francis Street. At <strong>the</strong> next light, go right onto West Exchange Street. <strong>the</strong> hotel will<br />

immediately be on your right.<br />

From <strong>the</strong> East:<br />

Take 195 West. Merge onto 95 North to Exit 22A. Follow <strong>the</strong> signs towards Downtown/Convention<br />

Center. At <strong>the</strong> light, turn right onto Francis Street. At <strong>the</strong> next light, go right onto West Exchange Street<br />

<strong>the</strong> hotel will immediately be on your right.<br />

From <strong>the</strong> West:<br />

Take Route 6 East to <strong>the</strong> "Route 6 East and I-195 South" on ramp. Take a right and stay to <strong>the</strong> right<br />

following <strong>the</strong> signs to Providence and Route 6 East (you will use part <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> I-195 on-ramp to get onto


Route 6 East). Stay on Route 6 East to <strong>the</strong> end (sign will read "6 East to 10 North") and stay to <strong>the</strong> left.<br />

Continue to <strong>the</strong> Dean Street Exit. Once on <strong>the</strong> exit ramp, stay to <strong>the</strong> left, you need to be on <strong>the</strong> left side<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> island when you reach <strong>the</strong> light. Turn left onto Dean Street (4 lane road). Then immediately take<br />

your first right onto West Exchange Street, <strong>the</strong> Westin will be on your left hand side.<br />

Wea<strong>the</strong>r<br />

Rhode Island’s average temperature for <strong>the</strong> entire year is near 50 degrees, with April through June and<br />

September through mid-November <strong>the</strong> most delightfully moderate seasons. January and February are<br />

<strong>the</strong> coldest months, with a mean temperature near 29 degrees, and July and August <strong>the</strong> warmest, with a<br />

mean close to 72 degrees.<br />

Rhode Island has no regular "rainy" or "dry" season, with precipitation fairly evenly distributed<br />

throughout <strong>the</strong> year. The first measurable snowfall <strong>of</strong> winter generally comes toward <strong>the</strong> end <strong>of</strong><br />

November, but may be as late as January. The month <strong>of</strong> greatest snowfall is usually February.<br />

Clothing Index<br />

Winter: Layer clothing and be sure to pack long-sleeved shirts, sweaters, socks, a medium-to-heavy<br />

coat, and gloves.<br />

Spring/Fall: Bring long-sleeved shirts, light sweaters, and light jacket<br />
