<strong>STOREKEEPER</strong> I<br />
FUNCTION<br />
Performs journey level specialized clerical work involved in the acquisition, receiving, storage and issuing of materials,<br />
parts and supplies for an assigned area which may include, but not limited to, the divisions of Central Motor Pool or Central<br />
Stores and the Elections Department.<br />
SUPERVISION RECEIVED<br />
Work is performed under general supervision of a higher level of authority.<br />

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS<br />
1. Performs warehousing and store keeping tasks to include receiving, identifying, handling, storing, issuing and<br />
delivering a wide variety of materials, parts and supplies.<br />
2. Receives incoming materials, parts and supplies; verifies items received against invoice and purchase order; notes<br />
quantities received and any discrepancies in materials or documentation; return warrantable, incorrect or damaged<br />
materials to vendors; packs and labels return shipments and notifies appropriate carrier to pick up shipment.<br />
3. Procures materials, equipment, parts, and supplies as assigned. Contacts vendors to determined highest quality of<br />
materials, parts and supplies, reasonable cost and delivery.<br />
4. Expedites the acquisition of critical materials, parts and supplies which are not in stock or are stored in other locations<br />
by contacting vendors to locate items, pricing items or resolving order procedural problems.<br />
5. Identifies accepted items with prescribed code and stores items in designated areas in the prescribed manner.<br />
Rearranges or establishes new storage areas as necessary to accommodate materials and supply items.<br />
6. Maintains, records, and reviews records of receipt and issuance transactions, stock levels, inventories, maintenance<br />
schedules, and related records and files on a computerized system. Utilizes computer terminal to obtain stock and<br />
supply information. Establishes reorder points.<br />
7. Issues materials, parts and supplies to authorized County personnel in accordance with established procedures;<br />
assists in identifying materials, parts and supplies and in selecting substitute or interchangeable materials, parts and<br />
supplies when required items or direct replacements for original parts are not available.<br />
8. Utilizes material handling equipment such as pallet jack and forklift and delivery vehicles to handle, pick up or deliver<br />
materials, parts and supplies.<br />
9. Maintains material, part and supply catalogs, cross reference indices and files.<br />
10. Performs housekeeping tasks to maintain clean and neat area.<br />
11. Performs special assignments as requested.<br />
12. Performs related work as required.<br />
WORK CONTACTS<br />
Regular contact with associate personnel, other County Departments and vendors as required during the performance of<br />
work assignments to include, but not limited to, providing information, coordinating activities, gathering required<br />
information, responding to inquiries, and resolving discrepancies.<br />
CONDITIONS OF WORK<br />
Work is subject to varying post or job site assignments and may be subject to call-back or on-call status and irregular<br />
schedules to include completion of work assignments on weekends and holidays. Work may also be subject to traveling<br />
and irregular hours in order to perform work assignments. Frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 50<br />

pounds.<br />
All employees of Mohave County are subject to immediate callout when an emergency, disaster or breach of homeland security<br />
occurs. All employees are considered to be available for these types of events and will immediately respond, in accordance with<br />
County Emergency Operations Plan, when directed by the Chairman of the Mohave County Board of Supervisors, County<br />
Manager, the Homeland Security/Emergency Management Coordinator, or when directed by their department director/elected<br />
official and/or immediate supervisor. Such call to respond and assist may involve those activities assigned to their regular job<br />
responsibilities and incorporate other non job related duties as necessary and required of an employee to respond to the<br />
emergent matter at hand. An employee’s response to these matters may require the working of unusual, long hours over a<br />
possibility of an extended period of time with infrequent breaks or rest periods. An employee who is working with an<br />
accommodation must meet with their supervisor and department director/elected official to discuss their requirement for<br />
response.<br />

ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING<br />
Any acceptable combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and one (1) year<br />
experience in general warehousing and store keeping work particular to area of assignment which may include the<br />
issuance and acquisition of parts and supplies for a wide variety of vehicles and equipment; issuance and acquisition of<br />

office supplies and related warehouse materials and supplies; or the preparation, acquisition and delivery of electionrelated<br />
information, materials and supplies for the Elections Department; and sufficient knowledge to make arithmetic<br />
calculations involving fractions, decimals and percentages, to maintain accurate and legible records and to fill out forms,<br />
receipts and related documentation. OR an equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides<br />
the desired knowledge, skills and abilities.<br />
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT<br />
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Must provide acceptable driving history at no cost to the County.<br />
