Capitalising on its straddle between established<br />
townships, Bandar Tun Hussein Onn has<br />
nowhere to go but forward.<br />
The recorded transaction prices of selected schemes within<br />
Bandar Tun Hussein Onn as at September 2014 are as below:-<br />
Semi-detached Houses<br />
Located between the Kuala Lumpur city centre and the<br />
Kajang Town Centre, Bandar Tun Hussein Onn comprises<br />
mainly residential and commercial elements. Governed under<br />
Majlis Perbandaran Kajang, Bandar Tun Hussein Onn falls<br />
under the minor planning block of Cheras, adjoining to other<br />
minor planning blocks like Taman Sri Bahagia, Kota Cheras,<br />
Batu 10 Cheras, Bandar Mahkota Cheras, Batu 11 Cheras,<br />
Cheras Jaya, Kawasan Perindustrian Kg. Baru Balakong, and<br />
Desa Baiduri. The majority of the dwellings in the township<br />
are of landed properties such as bungalows, semi-detached<br />
houses and terraced houses as well as a small amount of<br />
four to five-storey flats. Located in the heart of the town<br />
is the commercial area where retail shops and AEON BIG<br />
(Carrefour) can be found. A recreation area with a lake is also<br />
available for shoppers and residents to hang out and relax at.<br />
The most common access to Bandar Tun Hussein Onn is via<br />
the Cheras-Kajang Highway, followed by Lebuh Utama Tun<br />
Hussein Onn. As alternative, the township is also accessible<br />
from the south-east and south-west via the SILK Highway,<br />
Persiaran Damai Perdana passing through Bandar Damai<br />
Perdana or Jalan Alam Damai passing through Alam Damai.<br />
Currently, there is no comprehensive rail service available<br />
within the township, merely public transportation in the<br />
forms of buses and taxis. However, in view of the heavy<br />
traffic flow on the Cheras-Kajang route, an MRT project has<br />
been planned and is currently under construction to provide<br />
rail services from Kajang to Sungai Buloh. One of the MRT<br />
stations – the Bandar Tun Hussein Onn stations - is planned<br />
to be located along the Cheras-Kajang. The MRT is expected<br />
to be completed in 2017.<br />
