Salutes 2011-12 Students<br />

WEMOCO Students Inducted Into National Technical Honor Society<br />

Fourteen students were inducted into the WEMOCO<br />

Chapter of the National Technical Honor Society<br />

(NTHS). WEMOCO teachers presented students<br />

with their NTHS honor stoles. Current members<br />

Kathryn Baroody, Haley Chavira and Elizabeth<br />

Harder led the candle lighting ceremony. To be<br />

a member of NTHS a student must have a 90 or<br />

above average, an excellent attendance record,<br />

a WEMOCO teacher recommendation and be<br />

graduating with a local, Regents or Regents with<br />

distinction diploma. The students must adhere to the<br />

seven tenets of the NTHS. They are skill, honesty,<br />

service, responsibility, scholarship, citizenship and<br />

leadership.<br />

WEMOCO NTHS students are: Alexandrea<br />

Graduation Ceremony Held<br />

Special Education Students Celebrate<br />

at Moving On Ceremony<br />

minutes be<strong>for</strong>e the BOCES 2 Moving On ceremony. Ryan together with Alexander Borrelli,<br />

Benjamin Bowen, Dan Doan, Jason Frank, Tyler Groenendaal, Laura Hauck, Tyler<br />

Kuhn, Micah Miller, Marina Radu, Irina Ritchie, Christopher Wissinger, and Janelle<br />

Wolff were honored at a Moving On Ceremony be<strong>for</strong>e an audience of their families, friends,<br />

teachers and staff of Monroe 2 Orleans BOCES. BOCES 2 Board Vice President Dennis Laba<br />

and Superintendent Jo Anne Antonacci presented students with certificates, as they will be<br />

moving on to BOCES 2 transition classrooms located in the communities of Spencerport and<br />

North Chili or to adult agencies within the community.<br />

Alternative High School Ceremony at BOCES 2<br />

Kyle Schottmiller and Alexander Enders each receive the Stephanie Austin Memorial Award<br />

from PE teacher Michael Bray (left) and Therapeutic Day Program (TDP) supervisor Ken<br />

Sharp. The award is given to students who excel in physical education in honor of Stephanie<br />

Austin, an outstanding physical education student at BOCES 2 TDP, who passed away four<br />

years ago following <strong>graduation</strong>.<br />

Joshua Knoepfler, with BOCES 2 staff members and district staff members standing behind<br />

him, holds up his diploma at the Alternative High School ceremony.<br />
