The industry’s first FDA approved reusable Bowie-Dick test pack has consecutively numbered 

test sheets and can be utilized 25 times before disposal. Certified to meet AAMI standards for 

daily air removal and steam penetration in prevacuum steam sterilizers, this product reduces

STEAMPlus Sterilization Integrator 

STEAMPlus is an immediate readout integrator for use in gravity, prevacuum and 

flash cycles. This product is tested to ST-60 and ISO 11140-1:2005 performance 

claims of Class 5 integrating integrators. Four inch strip has distinct pass/fail 

criteria and allows for easy removal from packs. The STEAMPlus is FDA cleared 

as, equivalent in performance to a biological indicator, and offers the highest level of 

sterility assurance from a chemical indicator. The STEAMPlus does not replace the 

routine use of a biological indicator.

STEAMPlus Sterilizer Test Pack has a STEAMPlus Sterilization Integrator 

inside a challenge pack for immediate load release of gravity and prevacuum 

sterilization cycles. This product tests to ensure all parameters for sterilization 

have been met, and is FDA cleared as equivalent in performance to an AAMI 

BI Test Pack (PCD). For the highest level of sterility assurance, a STEAMPlus 

Sterilizer Test Pack should be run in every load. Loads containing implantable 

devices should include a BI Test Pack such as the SporViewPlus (see page 4).

STEAMPlus Tray Record Card 

When flash sterilization is unavoidable, utilize the Tray Record Card for 

documenting the sterilization cycle with patient traceability. The immediate 

readout STEAMPlus Sterilization Integrator is attached to a 3” x 5” card 

which allows for cycle parameters, load number and patient name to be 

recorded and kept as a permanent record. Release load immediately with 

peace of mind that parameters for sterilization have been met and maintain 

this card as a physical record of the sterilization cycle.

SporView ® Plus Biological Indicator Test Pack 

The SporViewPlus Steam BI Test Pack allows users to immediately release processed loads with peace of mind from the 

STEAMPlus Sterilization Integrator, which is attached to a load record card. The BI is then activated and incubated, checking 

the biological at regular intervals for visual spore growth; final biological indicator test results shall be recorded at 24 hours to 

comply with standards for routine sterilizer efficacy monitoring. 

The SporViewPlus Steam BI Test Pack is for use in both gravity and prevacuum 

sterilizers and is equivalent in performance to an AAMI BI Test Pack (PCD). Product 

meets AAMI standards for routine and implant loads and media growth promotion has 

been validated for extended steam cycles.

The EmPlus 270ºF Steam Emulator is a Class 6 emulating indicator, as defined by ISO 11140-1: 2005. The wicking style technology 

provides a simple, accurate method of assuring that proper conditions for sterilization have been met during a specified steam 

sterilization cycle. Unlike color changing class 6 indicators which can delaminate and provide erroneous results under differing 

light conditions (artificial or natural), the processed EmPlus emulators are easy to interpret, stable and will not revert post 

processing. Results of testing show the SPSmedical EmPlus emulator is a safe, highly reliable and reproducible chemical indicator 

for the monitoring of prevacuum and steam-flush-pressure-pulse (SFPP) steam sterilization processes operating at 270°F/132°C 

for 4 minutes exposure time.

Patient Record Cards 

Product is easy to implement for tracking sterilized items directly to the patient 

they were used on. Simply tape a card to the outside of every package and apply a 

lot control sticker to the card. The OR then separates it at the perforation and places

Heat Sealers 

Compact and easy to operate, each heat sealer comes with instructions for use. 

Heat sealers are available in 18” and 24” sizes and are ready to use after a short 

warm up period. In approximately two seconds, the heat sealer has made a 1/2” 

seal. If object exceeding 1/8” thickness is in the sealing area, the heat sealer will not 

operate, providing protection to employees. Temperature setting can be changed 

to properly seal paper/poly and Tyvek® packaging products, as well as dust covers.

Steam Verification Test Kit 

This test should be performed when major changes are made in packaging, 

wraps or load configuration for sterilization verification of wrapped trays or 

rigid containers. Each test kit contains 12 individual tests with multiple BI strips 

(5 tests and 1 control), pre-paid envelopes, instructions for use and certificate of 

performance. Independent third party confidential results are provided in a lab 

report after 24 hours incubation.

This system provides 3rd party legal documentation of sterilization from the 

largest sterilizer testing laboratory in North America. Two test strips and one 

control strip are provided for users to spore test multiple locations within the

EO Gas test results are completed and reported back to the 

customer after 7 days incubation. This system allows access to

High Level Disinfectant 

Rapicide® OPA/28 provides a superior way to reprocess heat-sensitive, semicritical 

medical devices that are unsuitable for sterilization. It features the fastest 

disinfection time, twice the reuse period of other OPA brands and guaranteed 

materials compatibility, which allows for the ultimate combination of safety, 

convenience and value. With Rapicide® OPA/28, you have a powerful, readyto-use 

disinfectant that is FDA cleared and CE-mark approved, carrying an 

active ingredient of 0.575% ortho-phthalaldehyde (OPA). High-level disinfect 

devices manually in just 10 minutes at room temperature (20°C minimum), 

to achieve bactericidal, fungicidal and tuberculocidal kills. It has been tested 

to provide 84 resuse cycles with a resuse period of up to 28 days and it’s 

manual disinfection time provides one extra disinfection cycle for every five 

instruments reprocessed.

Facility Audits 

Confidential on-site facility audits are available to healthcare facilities through 

our Education Department’s Sterilization Consulting Services. Within 10 days 

of completion, clients receive a written report detailing recommendations for 

quality improvement in areas such as; facility design, equipment, organizational 

efficiency, reprocessing procedures, infection control and compliance to industry 

standards. Educational training is included with CEUs approved for sterile 

processing (IAHCSMM and CBSPD), Surgical Technologists and OR personnel 

(CBRN). 

CS Scholarship Program 

It is of vital importance that there is an ongoing process for knowledge and 

certification of Central Service (CS) professionals involved in cleaning, 

disinfection, sterilization and distribution of sterile supplies. Certification 

provides personal identity, ongoing learning and professional development. 

SPSmedical supports educational development and competency based 

certification for sterile processing personnel. To qualify, applicants must 

have a minimum of 6 months experience in the department and provide a 

letter of recommendation from a supervisor or manager. This scholarship 

covers all self-study certification materials and exam cost. At this time, 

scholarships are only available to healthcare workers in the US and Canada.
