Cricket Clinic
Tomorrow students from Years 5 & 6 will be participating in a one hour cricket clinic skills session.
Kathy Barber from Cricket NSW will be conducting the sessions. The school is also asking for a
parent volunteer to become the school’s cricket ambassador. Ideally it could be a parent of a
student in years 3 or 4 that way the role will continue for two seasons. The school ambassador is
asked to be the contact person for all cricket information from Cricket Australia. There will be
professional development opportunities for the incumbent as well.

Year 2 Report
Over the last few weeks in science lessons
Year 2 have been looking at different ways
of communication. They have been
discussing visual signs as well as sign
language. Students have to choose one
visual sign and
research what that
sing is used for and
who would use it.
The classes have also been studying
“workers in the community” during HSIE.
This has involved looking at different
occupations in the community and what
they involve.
In writing the classes have been looking at
descriptive writing and have to write a
description on their favourite pet. For
technology they have created a map of the
school using aboriginal art symbols and
google maps.
Information Centre
Students from across Years 3-6 have
participated in video conferencing to refine their
writing skills. They have enjoyed presentations
from well known Australian authors such as John
Heffernan. He has written books such as
“Spud”and “Chips”.
Our video conferencing with the Korean schools
will be recommencing shortly as they are on their
summer break. A selection of students from
Years 3-6 have been
enjoying the
interaction with the
Korean students this
year. A new group will
have the opportunity
to participate in the
conferences through
the next few weeks
and Term 4. The
students and schools
have exchanged gifts and in the hallway of
Quirindi Public School was defeated 20-6
by Valley View Public School, Wyoming, in
the semi final of the Classic Shield
determined performance by our boys.
Valley View scored first and maintained the
lead for the game.
Jock Thompson was named man of the
It has been a marvelous performance by the
boys. Thank you to Geoff Hall and parents for
their support over the past months in our charge
towards the finals.
A particular thank you to Mr Lindsay Bowne who
set up the Quirindi Sportsground for a true
Rugby League final feel.
The welcome Quirindi Public School parents gave
Positive Behavior for Learning (PBL)
This week’s lesson is on Achievement. The definition of Achievement is successfully finishing
something that you have worked hard at.
Ways in which you can Achieve something is by practicing your counting and getting it right
or by practicing your spelling words each night and getting them all right in your test.
