SOPHOMORE COACH COURTNEY JARRELL
years before moving to Utah.
She attended Davis High School, where she played
basketball and softball.
Then she attended Utah Valley University. She was
on the softball team and graduated with honors with a
BS in Mathematics Education. After student teaching at
Riverton last year and coaching softball, she took the job
as a full time teacher.
COACH ENCE: "Courtney was sort of 'thrown into the
fire' as the first year coach, and she responded admirably.
Coach Jarrell
One quality that stuck out in my mind was how she instilled the importance of giving
all-out effort when you step on the court. Congratulations to Coach Jarrell for
continuing the winning tradition of our sophomore basketball team."
Coach
Burgess
DAYNA BURGESS filled the assistant coach role for all three
Riverton teams. She was very valuable scouting opponents, helping with drills,
and developing the skills in the younger players. Dayna was the first Riverton
female basketball player to be named first team all-state. She earned a
scholarship and played college basketball at Salt Lake Community College, and
then BYU. She recently finished her student teaching and plans to coach and
enter the Radiology program at SLCC.
