Given the many challenges facing<br />
broadcasters today, the NBA and the<br />
NAB are working harder than ever to<br />
represent our industry. Membership<br />
in both our state and national<br />
associations are critical elements in<br />
our united fight to ensure the<br />
viability and strength <strong>of</strong> America's<br />
free, over-the-air broadcasting<br />
system.<br />
Sixteen members <strong>of</strong> the NBA Board<br />
<strong>of</strong> Directors attended and<br />
participated in the NAB's Annual<br />
State Leadership Conference in<br />
Washington, DC.<br />
The Conference, held from February<br />
29-March 3, 2004, provided a forum<br />
where our NBA <strong>of</strong>ficers gained<br />
valuable resources. They were also<br />
completely briefed on key issues<br />
before both Congress and the FCC.<br />
Throughout the time spent in<br />
Washington, meetings were held<br />
with Senator Harry Reid, Senator<br />
John Ensign, Congressman Jim<br />
Gibbons, Congresswoman Shelley<br />
Berkley and Congressman Jon Porter<br />
-- together with each <strong>of</strong> their<br />
respective key staff members.<br />
