Rodd William Stowell<br />
Few current day broadcasters have had the opportunity to master the<br />
diversity within our field that Rodd has. Rodd's career began in Palm<br />
Desert, CA as a disc jockey. From there, his television experience includes<br />
video tape editor and technical director for network game shows like : The<br />
Price is Right, Tic Tac Dough, and The Joker's Wild, weatherman, director <strong>of</strong><br />
the news locally for channels 3 and 13, and independent television<br />
brokering with G.L. Vitto. Rodd found his perfect niche in sports<br />
programming with Sports Entertainment Network with it's flagship station<br />
in Las Vegas on 840 AM . Rodd is credited with the development <strong>of</strong><br />
network radio sports-talk and discovery <strong>of</strong> sports personalities "Papa<br />
Papa" Joe Chevalier, Scott Farrell, Las Vegan Mike Tenay and others. One highlight was "firing" Pete Rose,<br />
another was working with the woman who would eventually become his wife.The Rodd & Rae Show was<br />
wildly popular on more than 250 stations nationally and went on to capture the number one spot<br />
overnights for three years in Philadelphia on Sportsradio 610 WIP. Rodd's other sports industry work<br />
includes Drag Race and super speedway announcer for the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Minor League<br />
Hockey play by play announcer and calling horse races- both thoroughbred and harness. For most <strong>of</strong> the<br />
last 8 years Rodd has been the morning show host for KRLV 1340am, as well as its program director in<br />
both English and now in Spanish.<br />
Alvin Jones<br />
Alvin Jones has such an impressive work history. Al started his<br />
broadcasting career in 1968 at WGN TV in Chicago Illinois. Before starting<br />
his career in broadcasting, Al was a Chicago Police <strong>of</strong>ficer. And between<br />
1980 and 1982 he was a technician at Mercy Hospital. Al worked at WGN<br />
TV as an engineer from 1968 until 1998. From 1984 to 1998 he taught<br />
Television Production 1 & 2 at Columbia College. In 1999 Al moved to<br />
Pahrump, Nevada where he started working at KPVM TV as a talk show<br />
host and special reporter where he continues to work today. Al is<br />
associated with many organizations including the I.B.E.W Local 1226 Radio<br />
and Television Broadcast Engineers from 1968-1998; Black Students<br />
Psychological Association 1980; A.R.E.A. Amateur Radio Experimental Alliance; O.M.I.K. Ohio, Michigan,<br />
Illinois, & Kentucky Radio Club; and he is an honorary member <strong>of</strong> the Mercy Hospital A.T.U Alumni<br />
Association.<br />
