Charles E. Anthony Award Presentation
Charles E. Anthony Award presented to Jim Holton
The Charles E.
Anthony Outstanding
Service Award established
by the Mt. Pleasant Area
Chamber of Commerce
Board of Directors recognizes
exemplary volunteer
service to the community,
the Chamber of Commerce
and the Chamber staff.
The award was created to
acknowledge one of the
Chamber’s most dedicated
volunteers, Charlie Anthony.
Each year this award is
given to a Chamber Board
member whose volunteerism
reflects the dedication
of Charles Anthony. The
recipient is selected by the
staff for distinguished service
in volunteering one’s
time, willingness to help,
and assistance to achieve
the Chamber’s goals.
We are proud to announce
that this year’s
recipient is Jim Holton,
Owner of Mountain Town
Station, Camille’s on the
River and the Mt. Pleasant
Brewing Company.
Jim has served as Secretary
and Treasurer of the
Chamber Board for two
years and on the Chamber
Board for several years prior
to this. Last year he was
instrumental in assisting
staff in developing and implementing
the new event;
Grand A’ffare. His tireless

work behind the scenes to
assure a food, wine and
beer tasting were available
to the patrons of this event
was invaluable by helping
staff navigate complicated
regulations, red tape and
paperwork with the State of
Michigan.
For the last three years
he has also provided over
200 box lunches for Le Tour
Road Marshal volunteers
during Saturday race day
either as a donation or for
very little cost. Jim has also
been extremely involved in
organizing the annual Volunteer
Appreciation Picnic
for the Chamber. While
Jim has served as a great
community leader on City
Commission, as Mayor and
on many boards of organizations,
he is renowned to
the Chamber staff for his
high spirited sense of humor
and frequent stopping in the
Chamber office to see if he
can assist in any way. Jim is
also a big supporter of Business
After Hours and many
other Chamber events.
Jim always has an easy
smile, a word of encouragement
for the staff, and
a joke to keep things light
frequently playing pranks
on the staff. Our deepest
congratulations and sincerest
appreciation goes to Jim
Holton for upholding the
time honored tradition of
Charles Anthony!
