WELCOME<br />
Season 2012 is upon us and thank you to everyone who have been working behind the scenes to make<br />
sure all teams and players are ready to go. We have 29 teams registered this year and wish everyone of<br />
you a fun and successful season.<br />
Some teams would love to have another player so if you know anyone interested please pass on our details.<br />
Age groups looking for players 8, 9, 11 &13 yrs.<br />
This year we again had a large number of people put up their hand to coach. We thank all of those people<br />
and if you didn’t get a team this year I hope you will still be interested in the future. I would also like to thank<br />
the coaches who are mentoring our younger coaches this year. I know everyone has been busy preparing<br />
their sessions.<br />
Congratulations to Margert Murden (10B) who successfully attended the Foundation Coaching course.<br />
Last Saturday one of our junior teams took part in the Peninsula gala day. Thank you to all the umpires &<br />
mentors for their terrific effort. The gala day is a great way to kick off the season. Keep an eye out for other<br />
gala days/carnivals advertised on the website.<br />
The club is organising a NetSetGo program for 6 & 7 year olds. (Friday 1 until 29 June, pass it on)<br />
Please, if you have any concerns or praises I would love to hear them.<br />

Registration Fees: must be paid before the start of the season. If you cannot manage this, please contact<br />

been contacted, you will be unable to play Game 1 - Saturday 21 st April 2012.<br />
2012 parking permit: With each registration MWNA provide a parking permit to use at North Curl Curl<br />
School. Your manager will distribute your team passes. If you have any queries please speak to your<br />
manager. If managers have any queries, please contact Anne Mangold 0403 235 720.<br />
Photography Co-ordinator: We are still looking for someone to volunteer to organise our Clubs photos. If<br />
we do not have a volunteer we will be unable to hold a Photography day.<br />
Ann Sargeant Netball Clinic: the April school holidays clinic is now sold out the next clinic will be held at<br />

Umpiring: Umpiring allocations for the season are almost finalised. Senior teams – please note there are<br />
requirements to umpire before and/or after your games. ALL UMPIRES need to sign in AT LEAST 20 min<br />
before your game – You will need to hand in the umpiring slip provided with your allocation. If you don’t<br />
sign in at least 20min before, you will be allocated penalties. If you cannot remember what court you<br />
should be umpiring, there is a print out at the sign in counter. Due to the upgrade of MWNA facilities, all<br />
umpiring sign ins will be on the grassy knoll near court 17. MONETARY FINES are again being imposed<br />
this year by MWNA for umpiring penalties that are not cleared. It’s easy to avoid this fine – turn up for<br />
umpiring. If you would like some help with your umpiring, please let us know. We’ll help where we can.<br />
Congratulations to all the players and their parents who attended ANC Club Umpiring session – we look<br />

Level 1 Umpiring Accreditation Course: Is being held 9am to 1.00pm Sunday 29 th April 2012 at the<br />
Tramshed, Pittwater Road, Narrabeen. This course is the first step to becoming an accredited umpire. If<br />
you wish to attend RSVP’s to allambie.netball@people.net.au by Friday 20 th April 2012.<br />
Foundation Coaching Course: The next courses are scheduled for Sunday 13 th May 2012 & 5 th August<br />
2012 from approx. 8.30am to 3.00pm. A pre-requisite to this course is that all participants have completed<br />
the online Beginning Coaching Course through the Australian Sports Commission before attending this<br />
course. The website is: http://www.ausport.gov.au/participating/coaches/education/onlinecoach<br />
You then enter the Online Learning Portal. Please note that this online coaching course is FREE.<br />
Allambie will reimburse you for the MWNA coaching fundamentals course, when you coach a team this<br />
season.<br />
Development Coaching Course: This course is being held on Sunday 22 nd July 2012 from 8.30am to<br />
3.30pm. A pre-requisite to this course is the completion of the Foundation Coaching Course above &<br />
Umpiring Test.<br />

MWNA STRATEGIC PLAN FOCUS GROUPS<br />
MWNA have engaged a company to put together a strategic plan for netball on the northern beaches for the<br />
next 5 to 10 years. They will be conducting focus groups over the next couple of months as well as an<br />
online survey, one on one phone interviews and are asking clubs, their members and parents to contribute.<br />
It is envisage that the formulating of a strategic plan will help give direction and growth to netball on the<br />
northern beaches both at club & association level.<br />
The focus groups will be held as follows:<br />
Club/Life Members - Tuesday 17/4/12 at Tramshed Narrabeen from 7.30pm to 9.00pm<br />
Club/Life Members - Saturday 28/4/12 at CCYC from 1.00pm to 2.30pm<br />
Club/Life Members - Wednesday 2/5/12 at CCYC meeting room from 4.00pm to 5.30pm<br />
Club/Life Members - Thursday 10/5/12 at Heather Flawith Room, Forestville Community Arts Building (next<br />
to library) Darley St, Forestville 7.30pm - 9.00pm (parking Forestville shopping centre)<br />
